Language DMS

I have a question where exactly to put the language files. There are so many folders within DMS and I am unsure which one to use. I am using a child theme, and perhaps I have to many folders since I have upgraded this site a few times. But i need to get this straight.

To day I downloaded my site locally and installed another child them. Of course my language "se" was gone. And another question why can't i reverse to my second child theme after activating another one?

Here are all my language folders

Wp_content/language    here is one

Wp_Content/themes/dms/language   here is another

WP_content/themes/dms/dms/language    one more...

Wp_Content/themes/dms/childtheme/language  one more....

Wp_content/plugin/pageline-customize/language

Which one should I use??

And I probably have one more because the live site still works and I have copied all the above to the local

and that is still eng.

Thanks Peter

Hi Peter,

You do not need to use the Customize Plugin if you're using a child theme, as they do the same thing. Therefore, I recommend you stick with the child theme and remove the customize plugin, but be sure to make a copy of any CSS or custom code you have added to that plugin.

In-regards to where you place your language files, you will want to add these to your child themes language folder. If you add them to your DMS language folder, it will remove any additional files when there is an update.

Also, not sure what you mean by reverse to your other child theme ? Are you saying you have two child themes active for the same theme ?

No I don't have them active at the same time (is that even possible) But I have several child themes installed yes. I bought Enriques Voyant. I wanted to install and see what happened. Then I wanted to activate my own child again and that did not work. And my question was why. Is it not possible to use different child themes, just to try them out?

You should be able to use multiple child themes if you like, as they will not function unless they're activated. When you say you activated your own child theme and that did not work, what do you mean exactly. What didn't work, the theme itself or the languages ?

Sorry for the delay. I meant that the theme was a total mess when trying to revert to my child theme. But I sorted it with import & export to child.
