Canvas Sections Disappearing

Recommended Posts

mccooluk

Having created many sites using DMS I have come across a new problem.

Canvas sections keep randomly disappearing. I am working on a fresh install and have disabled all plugins.

I drag a canvas section to the page, add some sections (iboxes, textboxes, etc). Save/publish and refresh. Sometimes it is fine, and then sometimes it just disappears.

This has been happening for 2 days. There is not a single identifiable action that causes it to happen.

This is a serious issue as the site I am working on needs to be launched in 2 days. I am happy to give you login details so you can have a look yourself.

Please let me know what steps I can take to resolve this please

Thanks

Just as an update - If I save the Page template and turn on editor mode, the sections that don't disappear have the orange dotted outlines, the sections that disappear have the blue dotted outline.

I have changed 2 things and it would appear that the situation has stopped. I thought I would update in case it helps anybody else out in the future...

My client was also logged in to the site, so I have asked them to sign out.

Also, I found an additional and unnecessary </div> in a textbox which has now been removed.

Hope this helps

Hi,

What two things did you change so we can see if this is a bug or related to something else ?

As mentioned above:

1. Make sure nobody else is logged into the site at the same time.

2. Check any custom HTML, I had an extra </div> that I had put in a text box.

Im not sure which was at fault (I suspect the latter), but have been working on it all day since and no problems.

Yeah, you really should make sure your code is valid, as that is likely the cause.

What I do is, if I am going to write some code such as HTML, PHP or even CSS, is write the code in a code editor. I personally use Atom by Gitub and install some packages called Linters. What these packages do is scan your code on the fly for any typos, errors you may have written, see my screenshot below.

By getting into the practice of doing this, you will limit your errors and write better code. I have provide a link below to the linter packages and Atom website.

      Hi
      I have a map here http://www.iloveoffset.com/maps/
I want to add several pointer locations to the map, but when I do they do not appear.
On this map there are 2 pointer locations and as you can there is only one visible.
Earlier today I added 7 and could only see 4 so there is something odd going on.
My theme is up to date

      Hello,
I've been having trouble unlocking the template section for past couple of weeks. When I try clicking nothing happens.
I've deleted my custom css and removed plugins. Im down to having only the following plugins:
      Akismet
      Contact Form 7
      DMS Professional Tools
      Pagelines Updater
      WooCommerce
It was working fine before i have no idea what's going on with it.

My DMS 2 site http://www.heart-stone.com/ will not save any new custom css... I can still edit templates and publish those but any custom css that I enter never saves.
All WP files, themes, and plugins are up to date.
Any thought about what might be causing this?

Is there a way to edit the custom CSS via FTP? I know I can edit the custom code in the Chrome editor but is there a file path I can use to find and edit the CSS directly from our FTP?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Using navbar section with correctly configured WP menu to display main navigation at https://elenaangel.com.
All fine in desktop viewport. Menu displays twice in hamburger mode. How to fix this please?
