Cannot edit using DMS editor

Recommended Posts

Wordpress 4.1

PageLines installed products:

DMS 2 version 2.1.9.2

DMS Professional Tools version 1.8.5

Footer Extras DMS version 1.0

PageLines Updater version 1.2.6

Plugins:

Ultimate Coming Soon Page version 1.12.0

When trying to edit the site I get what you see in the attached image. When listing installed products and versions I noticed that the PageLines plugins needed updating.  Having done so editing mode now only shows a blank white page.

If I disable all plugins then the editing page shows as per the attached image.

I can run a locally installed version of the above including all plugins activated plus a host of others using xampp version 3.2.1 (MySQL 5.6.14, Apache 2.4.7 and phpMyAdmin 4.0.9).

I can also use other themes successfully on the live site.

I'm assuming under these circumstances that there is some issue with my hosting server for the live version.

Where can I go from here?

In anticipation

Ian

Hi,

We are going to need to disable the Coming Soon plugin and also enable DMS debug mode which you can find under WordPress Admin Dashboard > PageLines, scroll to the bottom and check the last option DMS Debug.

I have done that ok but I am not sure how to obtain debug information.

If I check any errors using Chrome's developer tools there are two erros both of which are:

Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 (Internal Server Error)

I have re-instated the Coming Soon Plugin for the time being.

How do you retrieve any deb ug information from PageLines DMS itself?

Ian

I have logged into your website and also viewed your debug info. The cause of your issue is that you're CSS is giving a server 500 error. Therefore, this is related to how your server is configured. You will need to contact your web host provider and show them your DMS debug info.

Then they should be able to correct the issue, you can view your debug info, by adding the following to the end of your websites URL:

?pldebug=1

For example:

http://www.mywebsite.com/?pldebug=1

The PM you sent doesn't include your admin username or password. Therefore, I am unable to login, can you send a new PM with this information please.

As far as I can tell, this is a server issue. You're going to need to contact your web host provider and ask them to upgrade your PHP version to something greater than 5.3, which you currently have.

Also, you will want to ask them if they have any server caching active as I think this may be the cause. Basically, the reason as to why the editor is not working is because your editor-draft.css file has a 500 Internal Server Error.
