Updating to Wordpress 4.1

Hi,

i tried to automatically update my EcoPro template to Wordpress 4.1.

 

At first it just seemed to get stuck. Than my site was down for 30mins. Now the site works but if I try and access my wordpress dashboard I get this message:

 

Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_json_encode() in /websites/123reg/LinuxPackage98/br/ig/ht/brightgreenhomes.co.uk/public_html/wp/wp-admin/includes/misc.php on line668

 

Can someone please help.

Do you have FTP access?

You will need to download a fresh copy of WordPress from wordrpess.org, unzip it and upload the files to your server.

Please not to be careful NOT to overwrite/delete the wp-content folder, thats where all your themes/plugins live.

Hi,

I do have another question - is there a responsive design being created for the EcoPro theme? At the moment the website looks great on a desktop but is very clunky on an ipad or a mobile.

 

I am starting to thhink that perhaps I need a whole new theme and just transfer the content over?

Hi,

 

EcoPro was developed before responsive design really took off. Therefore, there is no responsive styling for the current EcoPro. However, I would recommend using JetPack, it comes with a decent mobile theme which you should be able to use.

In regards to the future of EcoPro, I would highly recommend switching theme, as this theme hasn't received an update for over four years. I will also reach out to our developers and see if EcoPro is on the road map for a Core theme powered by DMS.

Hi,

Thanks for your help Danny. I use Pagelines DMS for a couple of other sites i developed - would be great if they had a Core theme powered by DMS. Otherwise I am thinking of an update from elsewhere - any suggestions?

 

I have installed jetpack - and configured the mobile section but it seems to have made absolutely no difference to the way my website is displayed on a mobile or ipad at all? what am i doing wrong?

You will need to contact JetPack for assistance with their plugin. However, the mobile theme should work, if its not contact them.

      For some reason every time I upgrade to a new version of Pagelines Framework, the Features Section seems to break.

      I am attempting to upgrading from Platform 1.4.1 to Pageline 2.3.8 with an install of wordpress 3.4.2. and once I activate the theme my previous posted content is displayed without any theme layout. See wigmag.com for results. I have followed all instructions provided about upgrading. I have removed all widgets and plugins. Twice I have deleted the theme, obtained a new download and installed the pageline theme with the same results. In an email exchange with support, they think it might be caused by a permissions issue, but provide no clue to what files or direcctories that would be. The server I'm running it on is using PHP version 5.2.10, MySQL version 5.0.51.
