Primary Sidebar in widget admin

Hopefully, I have a simple question!

 

The Primary Sidebar Widget has an option at the bottom "Allow this sidebar to be replaced" which affects the choices in the "Sidebar Location" link.

What do you mean by the option?  Replaced by what? Moved somewhere else on the screen? 

 

Could you give me an example of how it's used?

That option "Allow this Sidebar to be replaced?" is not a WordPress or DMS feature and therefore, is likely related to a plugin you have installed. Therefore, we are unable to provide assistance.

Thanks Danny.  I've worked out what's going on - it's the Custom Sidebars plugin which lets you choose a different sidebar to override the primary sidebar.
