RevSlider-like function, but only for 1 slide

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to create a responsive, full width banner image, with overlaid text, that functions like RevSlider with 1 slide (as the user scrolls down the site, the image goes under the nav and the content below the image comes up on top of it).

I've done this with RevSlider, again, using only a single slide. The trouble is, none of the overlaid text seems to be responsive.

I can get part way there with a PageHeader section. The text and image are both responsive. However, in Safari, the text begins slightly faded out until I scroll. Another issue is that I cannot get the background image to size correctly. When I do, the text is not displayed.

So, is there a better way to achieve this:

  • A single, full width background image
  • Text overlay (heading and subheading)
  • Both image and text are responsive
  • Image area is sized like a default RevSlider slide
  • The section reacts to a scroll like a default RevSlider section

Simplest thing is to buy a copy of Revolution Slider from Envato (on which revslider is based)  - it offers all the flexibility you need to achieve single or multiple slides with text exactly where you want.

Thanks nfp1900.

I'll consider that as an option.

Still, there has got to be a better, more DMS-way, than adding a plugin.

This seems like such a simple issue and I'm blind to the solution.

Can you not just use the Canvas section add your image there and then use the options such as Parallax etc... and then use a TextBox or MediaBox ?

lol, well it's a pretty good plugin so it isn't a waste of money. You could also use the Full Width MediaBox which is available on my GitHub profile.

      Hi
      I have a map here http://www.iloveoffset.com/maps/
I want to add several pointer locations to the map, but when I do they do not appear.
On this map there are 2 pointer locations and as you can there is only one visible.
Earlier today I added 7 and could only see 4 so there is something odd going on.
My theme is up to date

      Hello,
I've been having trouble unlocking the template section for past couple of weeks. When I try clicking nothing happens.
I've deleted my custom css and removed plugins. Im down to having only the following plugins:
      Akismet
      Contact Form 7
      DMS Professional Tools
      Pagelines Updater
      WooCommerce
It was working fine before i have no idea what's going on with it.

My DMS 2 site http://www.heart-stone.com/ will not save any new custom css... I can still edit templates and publish those but any custom css that I enter never saves.
All WP files, themes, and plugins are up to date.
Any thought about what might be causing this?

Is there a way to edit the custom CSS via FTP? I know I can edit the custom code in the Chrome editor but is there a file path I can use to find and edit the CSS directly from our FTP?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Using navbar section with correctly configured WP menu to display main navigation at https://elenaangel.com.
All fine in desktop viewport. Menu displays twice in hamburger mode. How to fix this please?
