Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

Quick question. What code is needed to disable the thumbnail of the current post when using Flipper?

Thanks,

B

Hi,

I apologise, but I am not entirely sure what you mean. Therefore, can you go into more detail and if possible provide screenshots of what it is you're trying to achieve please.

Hey Danny,

Thanks for responding. So I've just attached a simple screenshot of Flipper with default images, but you'll see there's three thumbnails. Right now, this section displays a thumbnail even if you're viewing a current post/page. This is what I like to have changed. There's no need to display a post thumbnail and link to page you're already on.

Any help on this would be great!

B

There is no way to remove the default "No Thumbail/Featured Image" image without customizing the sections code, which isn't something we recommend nor support. Flipper has been designed to display your pages, posts or CPTs featured image.

Therefore, if you plan on using this section, you will need to have a featured image on all your post types. Also, Flipper and Masonic sections have been designed as a Carousel to display X amount of post, pages etc... and therefore, like any Carousel slider, it will not filter out the post/page you're viewing as that is not our Carousels works.

Ok, thank you for trying Danny. There was a solution, with the help of dkadvertising, and I've pasted it below for anyone else that may need to accomplish a similar result.

1. Create a copy of the "Flipper" section and place in your child theme's "sections" folder.

2. In the section.php file of the section you're editing, find the opening text:

function section_template(  ) {

This section begins a list of defined variables. Add the following to the list of defined variables:

 $exclude_id = array(get_the_ID());

3. Then at the end of the list of variables, you'll find the query defined, which opens like this:

$the_query = array(

Inside the ( ) of that definition, add the line:

'post__not_in' => $exclude_id

That's it. Works perfectly. See attached screenshots too.

      I am using the Powerloop plug-in on my DMS website and can sort my elements by Postdate, but I want to sort the pages in Alphabetic order.
      Actually the same question for sorting Flipper content in Alphabetic order instead of Ascending / Descending / Random options.

      We only want the images and title mouse-over, not link/click to the actual post the title is from.
      Any ideas anyone?
      Thanks

      I just installed and added the Flipper section to my home page and it makes my navigation/menu bar items disappear.
      They do show up again when scrolling down and everything seems normal on the other pages.

      Thanks.

      Is there any way to hide the excerpt in Flipper, and the navigation arrows?

      How do I hide (or change) the category title in the Flipper section?
      Could there be a setting for this in the editor?
