I would like to remove the footer and the fixed nav menu in the header for certain pages only.  How can I do that?

Hi,

To hide sections on a specific page, you will first need to download and install DMS Pro Tools - http://answers.pagelines.com/how-to-use-dms-pro-tools

When the plugin has been installed and activated, go to WordPress Admin Dashboard > PageLines Pro and enable the Allow Hidden Sections option in DMS Pro Tools.

Once activated, all sections will have new options for you to hide sections on specific pages. To use this option you need to use the page ID provided by DMS and not WordPress. To find the ID of the page provided by DMS, go to DMS Toolbar > Page Setup > Page Handling, here you will find useful information regarding your page near the bottom you find Current Page ID and a numeric value, this is the page ID value you need to copy and paste into the hide sections option.

Once copied and pasted, publish your changes and you will receive a message outputting something similar to this "Canvas Area is hidden or returned no output." This works for Header, Footer etc...

Thanks.  Here's what I did so far, I went to Admin Dashboard > PageLines Pro and enabled what's below:  I cannot figure out where the rest is from your instructions.  Did I enable the correct option? Please help!

Allow Hidden Sections. Add Hide Options To Sections  Adds special options to sections that allow you to show sections only to various users/groups.

What I do see now is that in DMS every time I click on a section I have the option to enable hiding it for logged in users, logged out users, mobile...etc.  Except for the NavBar area where the fixed menu is and where i would like to hide it for certain pages.

I already have the plugin installed I think because when I try to upload it wordpress tells me that the Destination folder already exists.

Sorry for the multiple replies.  In my DMS Toolbar, Page Setup is called Template and it does not have the options that you mentioned.

What version of DMS do you have as you should see the following when you enable DMS Pro Tools Hide sections option - https://cloudup.com/cXgoPx0snLx

Hide sections based on user role, hide on desktop/mobile - https://cloudup.com/cfNu4D-TTd5

Hide on specific pages - https://cloudup.com/cRsG4hgldqd

Page Handling via DMS Toolbar > Page Setup - https://cloudup.com/cYO5Pdsi-PD

If you see none of these then you're likely running an out of date version of DMS, the latest version is 2.1.8

Sorry for the late response.  I see all of them except for the last two.  It also says "There is an update for DMS, version 1.1.8 is now available." and not 2.1.8.  I am concerned about updating the theme because I have made some changes to functions.php, header.php, comments.php, added some CSS in the DMS </> Custom section.  Will updating remove all my changes in these files?

If you have made changes to the core files, we are unable to provide further support as edits to the core code are not recommended nor supported. Also, as far as I am aware the options are only available in DMS 2.x not DMS 1.x which you're using. You should also always update to the latest version, for bug fixes, security updates and new features. By using an out of date version also limits the support we can provide as we can only really support users who are using the latest version.

I might be doing something wrong here.  I see all the screenshots except for the last two. Which change the word Template to Page Setup in the DMS toolbar.  Is there something that I am missing in the plugin setup?

What I was trying to do is to hide the menu for certain pages and I was able to do that using a plugin called Page Specific Menu Items.

Just for future reference.  Does DMS offer a child theme so I can put my custom coding in there without worrying about updates removing all my custom coding?

DMS has a number of child themes for it, you can also create your own. You can use the PL Starter or the one I created Skeleton.

https://github.com/pagelines/pl-starter-theme

http://dannyholt.github.io/skeleton/

Also, if you're not seeing Page Setup and are seeing Template instead then you're either using an out of date version of DMS or using DMS 1.x.

Hi Danny

In my download section (I use the free version) there is PageLines Updater plugin only.

Basically my question is: when I drag an item on the header for examples, it appears on all the other pages, and I only

want it to appear on that specific page..

Please Help

Yalon

yalondpsi You will need to use custom CSS and use the sections ID and apply display: none to it. For example:

#sectionID { display: none; }
