Blog video not displaying on Facebook

Recommended Posts

When I try to publish my Blog post with a  video on Facebook, the comment posts fine but not the video. Any idea what I need to do to get the video to show as well?

On my other non-Pagelines blog, I just used Paint, cropped a photo of the video and published that image on Facebook .But when I tried that with the Pagelines blog, it displays both the photo and video on top of each other on the blog page but neither displays with the comment on Facebook.

Thanks. I've installed and tried that plugin but no luck yet. Was hoping somebody there would know.

I am not entirely sure what you're trying to do, are you saying you have a video on a blog post and when you share that blog post, the video isn't displaying on Facebook ?

Can you tell us how you have added the video to your post please.

Correct. I'm using the Wordpress SEO by Yoast and Share Buttons by AddToAny plugins. I simply add the YouTube iframe to the video section down below the post and select Video in the right column as you taught me to do. But after I click on the Facebook button, the story posts on Facebook but not the video. It shows an image which is a portion of my website header.

As far as I am aware this isn't a DMS issue. You will need to post this question on either the WordPress support forums or speak to the AddtoAny plugin author regarding your issue.

I know this does not have anything to do with Pagelines directly but this is happening on my PL5 site.  At the bottom of my blog posts I have put the Facebook Comments Plugin and it works well but when people are leaving comments they are the same for every post.  Does anyone have any idea on how to solve this so the comments are for the post they are on.  Does that make sense? Ha!
      Thanks for any ideas folks.

Regarding the 'global option' mentioned by Simon in this previous post (to turn off the facebook opengraph data if you are using another plugin that provides it) ...where is this option? I don't seem to be able to find it.
      Many thanks in advance.

I'm sure this is just user fatigue...but where is the setting to delete the Facebook button in the Splash section of Teamwork? You'd think it would be in the Splash area, but it seems
to be hiding elsewhere!  You can barely see it... I didn't even notice it until I changed the image.

When trying to activate the Facebook Plugin, using the Bootstrap Theme under Platform 5, the following Fatal Error occurs:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '[', expecting ')' in /wp-content/plugins/pl-plugin-login-facebook/libs/fblogin.php on line 35
If anyone has any advice, it would be greatly appreciated...
