DMS 2 vs. Pagelines Framework 2.4.4

Recommended Posts

Remember to include as much information about your technical issue as possible for example:
Website URL: www.golfdynamics287.com
Framework Version: DMS 2.0
WordPress Version: 4.0
Details:

WP's menu Appearance>themes installed... shows two Pagelines themes: one active (DMS 2) and one inactive (Pagelines 2.4.4).  Can I delete the inactive Pagelines Framework 2.4.4 since it isn't active without disrupting DMS 2.0?  Or are both needed?  The site's menu system is acting weird...sub pages will not stay under parent page after saving menu...and I want to delete all unused themes and plugins.

Thanks for your help!

Arnold

Hi,

PageLines Framework and DMS are two completely separate products and have no relation to one another. Therefore, I would first perform a back up, then proceed with removing PageLines Framework, if you're no longer using it.

Thanks Danny!  That is what I thought...but wanted to check with the experts first!

Regarding sub pages not staying under page after a save...I spoke with Godaddy.com tech support and they recommended using Firefox browser as it worked for them on this site.  So I exited out of Chrome then logged back into the site with Firefox and was able to correct the menu and sub page issue.  Weird that Chrome had a problem with WP and appearance, menu, and sub pages.

I only really use Chrome, and only load the other browsers when I need to check CSS compatibility etc... and I have never had any issue using Chrome with WordPress or its menu system. If you're still experiencing this, you will need to disable all extensions you have and see if this resolves your issue.

If it doesn't, post this on the WordPress support forums.

Hey folks - I'm trying to get right of some 'dead space' at the bottom of the page in the Material Theme. (see attached) Those two gray lines have an "Edit" button in between them when the browser has a login cookie for the site. Here I created a screenshot from a browser session that doesn't have context for my main login, so you can see that the "Edit" indicator is gone, but the bars and the space it occupies still remains. Can someone help me isolate this so I can make it *completely* disappear? Thanks.

      Hi
      I have a map here http://www.iloveoffset.com/maps/
I want to add several pointer locations to the map, but when I do they do not appear.
On this map there are 2 pointer locations and as you can there is only one visible.
Earlier today I added 7 and could only see 4 so there is something odd going on.
My theme is up to date

      Hello,
I've been having trouble unlocking the template section for past couple of weeks. When I try clicking nothing happens.
I've deleted my custom css and removed plugins. Im down to having only the following plugins:
      Akismet
      Contact Form 7
      DMS Professional Tools
      Pagelines Updater
      WooCommerce
It was working fine before i have no idea what's going on with it.

My DMS 2 site http://www.heart-stone.com/ will not save any new custom css... I can still edit templates and publish those but any custom css that I enter never saves.
All WP files, themes, and plugins are up to date.
Any thought about what might be causing this?

Is there a way to edit the custom CSS via FTP? I know I can edit the custom code in the Chrome editor but is there a file path I can use to find and edit the CSS directly from our FTP?
Thanks in advance for the help!
