Customize PostPins Display Content

Is there a way to customize what metadata is displayed by PostPins?

I am using PostPins on DMS. I've added the PostPins section to my page, and can view all of my posts. When I go to edit the section, I can edit a couple items, like the width and spacing. I cannot select which metadata items to include.

I would like to be able to turn on/off the following items:

Category

Post Title

Excerpt/First 25 words (don't care what this is as a default, I basically just want this off)

Post Date/Time

Can this be done by modifying the PostPins code?

On a somewhat related note, I've been really dismayed by the lack of post display options in DMS. I selected PostPins because it gave me the best visual on posts, but I am disappointed in its lack of customizability, which is the main thing I expect from DMS. The standard post layout is really boring, and most of the post layouts that are for sale in the store are exactly the same thing. I hope Pagelines and other developers work on this, because the blog functionality of Wordpress is what's great about it... the ability to add new content in ONE place, and not have to keep going back to edit your pages to make sure it shows up correctly

I know DMS and Pagelines have always had boxes and sliders and banners that look AMAZING, but they're not a great user interface. They make it even harder for people who are trying to build pages for clients, and want to be able to give them a system they can use easily, especially from their phones.

HI,

The PostPins section is inspired by Pinterest and therefore, doesn't include options to cusotmize those particular elements. If you want to remove the Category, Post Title etc...You're going to need to either use custom CSS or edit the sections.php file yourself by creating a child section via a child theme.

You can use the following CSS to hide those elements:

#site .pin-meta,
#site .pin-excerpt {
  display: none;
}

The items in the store are for the most part developed by a third party developer and not developed by PageLines. Therefore, if you feel they're similar we can pass this feedback onto our store developers, but this isn't something we enforce.

However, the layout of posts is already quite extensive, you have our own WP-Content/PostLoop section which includes the new mode that supports post formats and legacy mode that supports standard list view or magazine mode. Legacy mode also gives you several options to change the way your blog is displayed, this includes the meta options and thumbnail position.

In regards to your last statement, I apologise, but I am not sure what you're referring to when you mention sliders and boxes? Can you go into greater detail please.

Please search our forums, before posting!

      I am having an issue with DMS editor not loading.  Just keeps spinning and spinning.
      Have tried several things - Logged in and out, cleared cache, deactivated all plugins, but the issue persists.
      I even had our host restore from a backup a few weeks ago, when I know it WAS working, as I edited a text box on the homepage.  The restore from backup didn't help either.
      Also, the front end of the site shows that the site is framed, or boxed now (whatever you call it), instead of full width as it was previously (last week).
      Dev console shows that there are php errors in Google maps - file is attached.
      Can someone please help?  Not sure what else I can do here...
      Thanks in advance.

      Hi there,
      I've got an issue with 3 websites built with DMS since I migrated them from http to https that I need help with please.
      When any changes are made - e.g. new posts added or existing posts amended - certain sections of the live site seem to break e.g. image headers hang and don't load (b/g on canvas section), sliders hang and don't load (Revslider), flipper section doesn't load.
      Logging in and then clicking 'Edit the site using DMS' seems to fix the problem. Often if I try to open up another browser window to edit the site / re publish I'm unable to as the page wont load / hangs while trying to load.
      Any ideas how to fix this? On a couple of the sites I've installed a caching plugin as I thought it might be a loading speed issue but it's still happening.
      Website URL's can be provided privately.
      Many thanks in advance.
