Pagelines Dashboard? Account? Updater?

Recommended Posts

Hey,

Apart from being a little miffed that I have to buy an add-on to DMS so that I can display my page title at a sensible height, I've just purchased the Pagetitle add-on for DMS 2.  Obviously, there's a download link in the email receipt, but I thought: "I know, why don't I use the Pagelines Updater plugin in Wordpress to download my new purchases. Surely, I can do that?"

Problem No 1: where is the Pagelines Updater? I've found Pagelines licenses which shows the already downloaded purchases... no download button...

So what do I do now? Well I look at the documentation, and apparently there's a Pagelines Dashboard too.  Now I have a tab in Wordpress called Pagelines where I can (and do) enter the DMS editor, but no dashboard there...  I have the Pro Tools plugin too, no dashboard there....

More documentation: apparently there's an Account option accessible from the DMS toolbar... No sign of one for me...

HELP!!!!

Regards,

Joe.

Hi Joe,

You do not need to purchase a extension to display your page title, you're free to use legacy mode in the WP-Content/PostLoop section, which includes an option to display your page title.

The PageLines Updater plugin updates PageLines DMS, it will not download your purchases and install them for you. All the PageLines updater plugin does is makes sure you're using the legit version of DMS and will prompt you that an update is available for DMS.

The PageLines updater plugin can be downloaded from your PageLines Account - http://pagelines.com/my-account You need to download and install this plugin yourself, it is not automated. Once the Updater plugin has been installed and activated, a new PageLines dashboard menu will be available under WordPress Admin Dashboard > Dashboard > PageLines Licenses, here you can enter your DMS license.

If you want to install the Page Title extension, then you need to do this yourself, you can either use the download link via the email or go to your PageLines account and download there. Once downloaded, install it like you would any other plugin.

Hi Danny,

Thanks for your quick response.

I have already installed Pro Tools and PageLines Updater and entered my license key, so I understand how that works.

However, I'm still baffled by the lack of "Dashboard" and "Account" options which the documentation says are there: http://docs.pagelines.com/getting-started/dashboard-account.

I don't have either or know where to look for them.

There's a warning about using the Legacy option that it says it won't be supported in future versions. So I didn't check it, because I didn't want to be left unsupported.  Hence I didn't know about the page title options, and have purchased the Page Title extension anyway. I can probably live with the cost (if it works).

Can you advise about the Dashboard/Account options please?

Thanks.

Yeah Joe, this our bad. Basically, the whole DMS documentation as we speak it getting a make over, as the documentation at the moment hasn't been updated to the latest version of DMS. In the latest version there is no account panel or dashboard as it wasn't really needed or used. The only thing in the backend of WordPress should be DMS Pro Tools, PageLines Licenses and PageLines, which is the fallback system etc...

Everything else is on the front end of your site.

      Hi
      I have a map here http://www.iloveoffset.com/maps/
I want to add several pointer locations to the map, but when I do they do not appear.
On this map there are 2 pointer locations and as you can there is only one visible.
Earlier today I added 7 and could only see 4 so there is something odd going on.
My theme is up to date

      Hello,
I've been having trouble unlocking the template section for past couple of weeks. When I try clicking nothing happens.
I've deleted my custom css and removed plugins. Im down to having only the following plugins:
      Akismet
      Contact Form 7
      DMS Professional Tools
      Pagelines Updater
      WooCommerce
It was working fine before i have no idea what's going on with it.

My DMS 2 site http://www.heart-stone.com/ will not save any new custom css... I can still edit templates and publish those but any custom css that I enter never saves.
All WP files, themes, and plugins are up to date.
Any thought about what might be causing this?

Is there a way to edit the custom CSS via FTP? I know I can edit the custom code in the Chrome editor but is there a file path I can use to find and edit the CSS directly from our FTP?
Thanks in advance for the help!
