Woocommerce catalog images stretched

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

I'm working on a website with a small webshop (woocommerce).

everithing works fine, but my catalog images are distorted and this happens in multiple places:

- http://www.hdcomputerservices.be/?page_id=270, where I displayed it on the page using shortcodes : [product_category category="starter-laptop"]

http://www.hdcomputerservices.be/?product_cat=lenovo, diplaying a product category

Both of the above have stretched images, but the related product images on a single product page are the worst:

http://www.hdcomputerservices.be/?product=lenovo-thinkcentre-edge-e73

The catalog pages are less important then the featured products (but it would still be great if those could get fixed as well)

What am i missing, or what needs to be changed?

http://www.hdcomputerservices.be

No custom CSS

woocommerce image size is not changed in settings (catalog images are 100x100)

wordpress 3.9.2

DMS 2.5.1 (issue was the same in 2.5)

woocommerce 2.1.12

debug mode is enabled

Kind regards,

Robbie

You might reference this thread

or this info from woocommerce

I didn't get the giant sized "Related products" to resize as my client liked them.  However, I'm thinking you could target the image and use something like "width: 40%;" in CSS and see if that impacts the image in the container .

Hope that helps.

Hi,

As far as I can tell, the issue is related to your actual images. When I viewed the code, they have a dimension of 300x300, but are being resized to 386x386. Therefore, your issue is that your images are too small to begin with, as far as I can tell. If you increase your images this should resolve your issue.

I resized the images as part of a temporary solution. My catalog images where 100x100 and it was much worse. DMS somehow stretches the images to 386x386.

Is there a way to avoid this?

DMS is not stretching the images, the CSS being used is all WooCommerce CSS. The issue is your images are too small and therefore, are being resized to fit the area, if you increase your images to something like 400x400, then will then need to be reduced and will not look stretched.
