Site Settings Not Working

Recommended Posts

ahusarek

For the past few weeks, I've noticed Site Settings have not been working. I've been having to change fonts and colors using custom CSS because the changes to the settings won't take, no matter how many times I refresh or restart. The settings are saved, but they just don't take effect.

Hi,

Would it be possible for you to provide us with a link to the site in question please, so we can take closer look. As it is most likely caused by a plugin, have you tried disabling all active plugins and see if this resolves your issue?

I had the same issue, site settings not updating. So I uninstalled plugins, and that worked. It was this plugin that was causing the site settings not to work, on my install.

JimP - I have just this moment installed WordPress SEO by Yoast and have no issue with site settings not working. Have you tried disabling, all other plugins ?

Danny you are correct - the problem as described in this thread, seems to be intermittent. I have correlated the following;

- When I disable all plugins I am then able to modify the site settings; color and BG fonts as well as typography, one time.

- After I change one of the site settings, I am then unable to do so again, until I disable all plugins again.

I haven't narrowed it down to one plugin yet.

OK, you're going to have to do the right pain in the backside process of elimination by enabling one plugin at a time. So enable one plugin and then see if the issue returns, if it doesn't go back to the plugins screen, disable that plugin then move on to the next one. Repeat this process until you find the culprit. Usually, this kind of issue is caused by a cache plugin.

For me it was the Contact Form 7 plugin.

I was able to see the changes if I was logged out of the site or from an incognito window. I deactivated, visited the site (logged in) and then activated it again. Now the typography changes are applied from the Site Settings. No custom CSS workaround needed.

Trust no plugin.

Funny, that's one of the plugins they recommend you use. I've also noticed that publishing before you refresh sometimes helps the changes stick, of course that kind of defeats the purpose of it.

      Hi
      I have a map here http://www.iloveoffset.com/maps/
I want to add several pointer locations to the map, but when I do they do not appear.
On this map there are 2 pointer locations and as you can there is only one visible.
Earlier today I added 7 and could only see 4 so there is something odd going on.
My theme is up to date

      Hello,
I've been having trouble unlocking the template section for past couple of weeks. When I try clicking nothing happens.
I've deleted my custom css and removed plugins. Im down to having only the following plugins:
      Akismet
      Contact Form 7
      DMS Professional Tools
      Pagelines Updater
      WooCommerce
It was working fine before i have no idea what's going on with it.

My DMS 2 site http://www.heart-stone.com/ will not save any new custom css... I can still edit templates and publish those but any custom css that I enter never saves.
All WP files, themes, and plugins are up to date.
Any thought about what might be causing this?

Is there a way to edit the custom CSS via FTP? I know I can edit the custom code in the Chrome editor but is there a file path I can use to find and edit the CSS directly from our FTP?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Using navbar section with correctly configured WP menu to display main navigation at https://elenaangel.com.
All fine in desktop viewport. Menu displays twice in hamburger mode. How to fix this please?
