larsm66 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2010 Do you have themes to match iBlogPro to BuddyPress? Do you have an opinion on BuddyPress? thanks.
Andrew 207 Report post Posted January 5, 2010 well, I'm not really sure what its good for actually. Since our focus is web products for pros, e.g. CMS, marketing tools, etc... I don't really understand the benefits of adding a social network to sites (isn't that what facebook, LinkedIn, etc.. is for?) In fact, I've yet to see a buddy press installation that I've liked. Maybe you can convince us? Do you know about any 'great' BuddyPress implementations?
larsm66 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2010 No I don't. I actually didn't know about BuddyPress until today. I am working on building (or rebuilding) a social network for investors and came across BuddyPress. That's why I was asking for your opinion since I can't really find anything out about it - features etc. some of the examples on the the wordpress site seemed interesting as well as the upgrade to version 1.2. I figured if it worked well all I would need is the right theme and a couple of custom plugins designed.
Andrew 207 Report post Posted January 6, 2010 Well if you're charged with creating a social network than it might be good. Definitely better than a 'built-from-scratch' approach. Its just not an approach that's common enough to specifically build it into our products.
