Color of links doesn't work

Recommended Posts

fabienfons

Hi,

All my links are black.

In "site settings / link base color" it's a custom color, but it doesn't work anymore...

Few weeks later, it was working..

I don't know where is the problem..

Thanks for your help

Fabien

Not sure what you issue is, as you have the color of links set to #515151 in your settings.

In fact, here is my problem :

My main menu of my web site is a nav bar.

In another topic, i asked you how to set the navy bar text in white, it works with this short code :

.navbar .navline > li > a {font-size: 13px; color:#FFFFFF !important;}

But :

The Color of the NavBar is white, so, i can't see the text.

To resolve this issue, it decided to set the Background Base Color to #0D687E (the same color than my link base color)

After that :

The background i#0D687E, in spite of i want it in white

So :

  • in the edit settings of Canevas, i choosed Background Theme : "white background, white text"

it works..

But :

Because of that, all my links are black  :growl:

I think there is a solution without setting Background Base Color to #0D687E:

I would'like :

  • To set a white background base color (i know how to do that)
  • To find a short code to set le background color of my navbar only (#0D687E:) (you gave me the solution for the text, but not for background)
  • It would be very cool to see the social bar icon with colors..

OK, your issue is caused by your custom CSS and the !important declaration, you need to remove !important from code.

However, I am not sure why you want to have white text on a white navbar ?

So what are you trying to achieve, what color do you want your navbar background and what color do you want the text ?

Just use the following settings:

Standard NavBar - Select Theme - In the dropdown set the option to SELECT

Background Theme - Choose Black Background, White Text option

Background Color Enable - Add you color choice to the color picker

i don't have the same option in my NavBar section options.

I use the NavBar section, not the full NavBar..

OK, if you're using the NavBar, then you're going to need to use custom CSS. I recommend you remove any custom CSS you have at the moment and set your link color to the color you want your links.

Then you're going to need to inspect your NavBar using Google Chrome dev tools and inspect the NavBar. From here you can change the background color style and then copy and paste this into your custom CSS.

If you're unsure how to do this, then I highly recommend you do the free online course/interactive tutorial for Chromes dev tools on Code School - http://discover-devtools.codeschool.com/

You're a good trainer man !

With what you told me, i t works perfectly :))

Here is my custom code :

.section-navbar .navbar.pl-color-grey {

background: #0D687E;
color: #0D687E;
}

.section-navbar .navbar.pl-color-grey .navline > li:hover > a, .section-navbar .navbar.pl-color-grey .navline > li.current-menu-item > a, .section-navbar .navbar.pl-color-grey .navline > li.current_page_item > a, .section-navbar .navbar.pl-color-grey .navline > li.active > a {
background: #0A5163;
}

.section-navbar .navbar.pl-color-grey .searchform .searchfield {
background-color: #0D687E;
}

.searchform .btn-search {
position: absolute;
z-index: 10;
left: 5px;
top: 1px;
color: #fff;
}

.navbar .navline > li > a {font-size: 13px; color:#FFFFFF !important;}

And here is the result :

Exactly what i wanted..

I suppose my custom code could be more simple, but it works, THANK YOU !!!

      Hi
      I have a map here http://www.iloveoffset.com/maps/
      I want to add several pointer locations to the map, but when I do they do not appear.
      On this map there are 2 pointer locations and as you can there is only one visible.
      Earlier today I added 7 and could only see 4 so there is something odd going on.
      My theme is up to date

      Hello,
      I've been having trouble unlocking the template section for past couple of weeks. When I try clicking nothing happens.
      I've deleted my custom css and removed plugins. Im down to having only the following plugins:
      Akismet
      Contact Form 7
      DMS Professional Tools
      Pagelines Updater
      WooCommerce
      It was working fine before i have no idea what's going on with it.

      My DMS 2 site http://www.heart-stone.com/ will not save any new custom css... I can still edit templates and publish those but any custom css that I enter never saves.
      All WP files, themes, and plugins are up to date.
      Any thought about what might be causing this?

      Is there a way to edit the custom CSS via FTP? I know I can edit the custom code in the Chrome editor but is there a file path I can use to find and edit the CSS directly from our FTP?
      Thanks in advance for the help!

      Using navbar section with correctly configured WP menu to display main navigation at https://elenaangel.com.
      All fine in desktop viewport. Menu displays twice in hamburger mode. How to fix this please?
