Prevent other admin from front end edits

Recommended Posts

Hi

I need to give five people admin access so they can do all the back-end stuff a full admin can do.

But, I only want one of them to be able to alter the front-end.

What's the best way?

Thanks

Paul

Hi,

I have accomplished this using two methods. the first is the one recommended by the devs which can be found here http://docs.pagelines.com/tutorials/lockdown-visual-editor

and the other which i use more often is

installing a role manager and create a role that doesnt give them the power to edit theme options.

Why do you need 5 admins?

I need five admins because I need five admins!

Not the most useful support response I've ever received.

Thanks Aires — will find a role manager. Do you recommend any in particular?

Currently using advanced access manager http://wordpress.org/plugins/advanced-access-manager/ but there are many other that are alot simpler with less options I will also add unlike other role managers you can not just duplicate the admin role you will need to make a new one and check the powers they are allowed and of course name it something other than admin. There is a slight learning curve if you don't know what some of the roles do.
So I would suggest making a dummy user and test to be sure you get the powers right.

I wasn't trying to be funny with my question, just wondered why you wanted five admins, all with high permissions like plugin editing, switching themes etc, its a recipe for disaster if you ask me. Thats what WP has roles like editor for.

I couldn't agree more but that's the way it is.

I have whittled it down to two admins for now but I only want one of them to access the DMS. Both need to be able to doing everything in the Dashboard.

      Hi
      I have a map here http://www.iloveoffset.com/maps/
I want to add several pointer locations to the map, but when I do they do not appear.
On this map there are 2 pointer locations and as you can there is only one visible.
Earlier today I added 7 and could only see 4 so there is something odd going on.
My theme is up to date

      Hello,
I've been having trouble unlocking the template section for past couple of weeks. When I try clicking nothing happens.
I've deleted my custom css and removed plugins. Im down to having only the following plugins:
      Akismet
      Contact Form 7
      DMS Professional Tools
      Pagelines Updater
      WooCommerce
It was working fine before i have no idea what's going on with it.

My DMS 2 site http://www.heart-stone.com/ will not save any new custom css... I can still edit templates and publish those but any custom css that I enter never saves.
All WP files, themes, and plugins are up to date.
Any thought about what might be causing this?

Is there a way to edit the custom CSS via FTP? I know I can edit the custom code in the Chrome editor but is there a file path I can use to find and edit the CSS directly from our FTP?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Using navbar section with correctly configured WP menu to display main navigation at https://elenaangel.com.
All fine in desktop viewport. Menu displays twice in hamburger mode. How to fix this please?
