Valid CSS not accepted child theme

Recommended Posts

jane

I've noticed that some of my validated CSS is not being rendered on my site. Only when I put it in the customs less/css area does it work. For example:

/*Postpins word breaks*/
.postpin {
    word-break: normal;
}

/*Fixe postpins spacing*/
.postpin-wrap {
  width:244px;
}

And this:

/* Larger nav logo container*/
.section-navi .navi-container {
    height: 50px;
    padding: 5px;
}

...don't work in a child theme, only in custom less/css area.

Why is that?

Hi,

When using a child theme, you may need to prefix your code to override the default, so try this:

/*Postpins word breaks*/
#site .postpin {
  word-break: normal;
}

/*Fixe postpins spacing*/
#site .postpin-wrap {
  width:244px;
}

/* Larger nav logo container*/
#site .section-navi .navi-container {
  height: 50px;
  padding: 5px;
}

Ah OK, thanks Danny I'll try this

EDIT:

I found the following using firebug:

#site .section-navi .navi-searchform input {
    background: none repeat scroll 0 0 #FFFFFF;
    }

^ it's to change the background colour of my search box in my fixed nav to make it white.

I validated it, added #site and plugged into my child theme but it's not working.

What should I do to get it to show up?

Thanks!
