Navbar animation & other CSS help needed

Recommended Posts

sheilahoff

My own biz site is live in DMS 1 at http://www.hoffmangraphics.com. I'm in the process of converting it to DMS 2 here: http://hoffmangraphics.wpstagecoach.com/

I have a few questions, areas where I could use some help.

1) This is minor but I'm curious why the background image in behind the navbar looks so different in the two sites as it's the exact same image.

2) I can't find anywhere to disable the animation of the site name text, it drops down from the top.

3) My live site uses crackbar but since Nick is no longer supporting his products in DMS2 I switched it to the built in Navbar. I have it pretty close but I need some help to get the hover and active to be right. You'll see when you visit that it bounces and the active is not the pink color. I've also lost the search option as it doesn't all fit anymore. I'd love some CSS help making this look like my live site which I'm perfectly happy with.

Thanks,

Sheila

Hi Sheila,

1. This is because you're using two different sections, the first site is using Crackbar which doesn't use background position or background-size: cover on your image. That is why they look different.

2. Unfortunately, there is no option to disable the animation, I have already reported this to our tracker.

3. Unfortunately, we do not provide customization support. However, to style the current active page/menu item you will likely need to use the following class.

current-menu-item

sheilahoff How quick do you need this... are you about to launch

Chrome Developer tools - please use them. If you are not sure how, then it is easy to learn

Be inventive in your keyword search of the forum ie Navi > Navbar > menu > tabs > font > color. Your answer lies there somewhere!

Thank you both. I'll try the current-menu-item. I'm not in a big hurry to launch. The live site is perfectly fine. I decided to try to convert it to DMS 2 because I have a bad link on the live site and my DMS will no longer allow me to save the changes! Rather than troubleshoot (it's likely to do with my server just adding APC but it could be a number of issues) I thought I'd see if the problem persists in DMS 2 which it doesn't (at least not on the staging server, which could be different). At any rate...not in a hurry.  Thanks.

      Hi
      I have a map here http://www.iloveoffset.com/maps/
I want to add several pointer locations to the map, but when I do they do not appear.
On this map there are 2 pointer locations and as you can there is only one visible.
Earlier today I added 7 and could only see 4 so there is something odd going on.
My theme is up to date

      Hello,
I've been having trouble unlocking the template section for past couple of weeks. When I try clicking nothing happens.
I've deleted my custom css and removed plugins. Im down to having only the following plugins:
      Akismet
      Contact Form 7
      DMS Professional Tools
      Pagelines Updater
      WooCommerce
It was working fine before i have no idea what's going on with it.

My DMS 2 site http://www.heart-stone.com/ will not save any new custom css... I can still edit templates and publish those but any custom css that I enter never saves.
All WP files, themes, and plugins are up to date.
Any thought about what might be causing this?

Is there a way to edit the custom CSS via FTP? I know I can edit the custom code in the Chrome editor but is there a file path I can use to find and edit the CSS directly from our FTP?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Using navbar section with correctly configured WP menu to display main navigation at https://elenaangel.com.
All fine in desktop viewport. Menu displays twice in hamburger mode. How to fix this please?
