Adding and assigning a secondary nav

Recommended Posts

quintinm

Hi.

I have dragged the secondary menu into my sidebar, but i cannot see how to assign a menu to it.

Under "Secondary Navigation Menu" i clicked configure menu and it took me to the main menus area.

I had already created a menu, but there are no checkboxes for "Secondary nav" to assign it to.

Please advise, thank you.

Hello quintinm

If you have two menu's set up in Wordpress > Appearance > menus then you can select the menu for the secondary nav by clicking the edit pencil and then selecting the required WordPress menu from the drop down.

If you need to actually create the menu and this is where you are getting stuck - have you clicked the 'create new menu' link?  http://screencast.com/t/E47lL5TynM

The answer to many issues can be found by searching in the forum before posting as someone else  may very well have had the same problem before you have.  Also, reading the documentation can help you gain a good understanding of how everything works.

Hello Martin Davies, thanks for the reply.

I think we are talking about different items / sections.

I referred to "secondary nav" and not "simple nav" and i cannot see where to assign a menu to it.

But having said that - i also assumed that secondary nav was a vertical nav and i am starting to think that maybe it is not.

Can you confirm that?

What i am wanting to do is add a sidebar menu under the products section of the site.

Perhaps i should just use Ubermenu to do that or something like (Advanced Sidebar Menu)?

Does DMS have a sidebar vertical menu included or do we have to purchase it as an add-on?

Thank you.

Hi,

DMS doesn't contain a vertical menu. However, you can either use the WordPress menu widget or UberMenu.

      Hi
      I have a map here http://www.iloveoffset.com/maps/
I want to add several pointer locations to the map, but when I do they do not appear.
On this map there are 2 pointer locations and as you can there is only one visible.
Earlier today I added 7 and could only see 4 so there is something odd going on.
My theme is up to date

      Hello,
I've been having trouble unlocking the template section for past couple of weeks. When I try clicking nothing happens.
I've deleted my custom css and removed plugins. Im down to having only the following plugins:
      Akismet
      Contact Form 7
      DMS Professional Tools
      Pagelines Updater
      WooCommerce
It was working fine before i have no idea what's going on with it.

My DMS 2 site http://www.heart-stone.com/ will not save any new custom css... I can still edit templates and publish those but any custom css that I enter never saves.
All WP files, themes, and plugins are up to date.
Any thought about what might be causing this?

Is there a way to edit the custom CSS via FTP? I know I can edit the custom code in the Chrome editor but is there a file path I can use to find and edit the CSS directly from our FTP?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Using navbar section with correctly configured WP menu to display main navigation at https://elenaangel.com.
All fine in desktop viewport. Menu displays twice in hamburger mode. How to fix this please?
