popover opacity

I am using the popover to provide additional content for a table - problem is that the popover's bg is slightly opaque and it's making it hard to read the test in the popover.

Here is what it currently looks like:

I want it to look more like this:

Below is all the current CSS that I can find applying to the popover - standard for DMS:

Problem is - I can't get the background opacity to change.

What CSS class/pseudo class do I need to be using?

Could you add a link to your site please so we can see this in action?

Also - please can you add your code to the pastebin functionality built into the forum and provide a link (i edited this for you)  http://forum.pagelines.com/pst/

The answer to many issues can be found by searching in the forum before posting as someone else  may very well have had the same problem before you have.  Also, reading the documentation can help you gain a good understanding of how everything works.

Martin Davies,

Sure, here is a link to the site: http://nonprofit.cinsay.com/home/#full-plans  (hover over the cell with 'Player' in it to see effect). It's just the popover that is applied via the shortcode found in http://docs.pagelines.com/tutorials/shortcodes

That's cool about pastebin - didn't know that Pagelines had that here. http://forum.pagelines.com/pst/rw/96-hnaeq9/

Thanks in advance.

Steve

Hi Steve,

I have just this moment added a table to a MediaBox which included the popover shortcode. The result is not similar to yours, my popover background isn't transparent, it has a solid white background, which is default in DMS.

Therefore, you most likely have something conflicting or manipulating the popover styling, this could be your custom CSS or a plugin(s).

Danny, you're right. It is inheriting it from the table row's opacity.

You can see here the HTML and CSS: http://forum.pagelines.com/pst/rw/97-uxtlcs/

How can I make it so that the background opacity of the popover isn't inherited from the class ppxx?  In the same table, this problem of inheritance is also causing the text in the popover to be white like the <td> cells, which makes it unreadable.  So solving an inheritance issue would help me in more ways than one.

Thanks!

Well thats the cause of your issue right there, opacity adds the opacity value from the parent and all child elements. So you need to replace opacity and find a work around, you could possibly try using rgba(); instead.
