Logo in the center of the menu

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm trying to develop a custom menu where the menu item in the center is an image where its height is different than the height of the menu.

I tried loading an image to the menu item using <img src="..."> and while it displays the logo as the menu item which is what I want, I cannot independently control the size of the logo without affecting the navbar height.

Here's an example of what I'm trying to do:

Cheers,

How are you trying to control the height? Via css?

The image will be going inside of the li tab within the navbar, so any changes made to that will change all items if you're using the class, as the container the li is placed within will adjust to fit.

What is the problem with the navbar container height adjusting? Or are you saying the background color of the navbar also gets heightened when you make the change not just the container height.

Kindly search the forum and read the documentation before posting. It will help you resolve many issues.

For CSS help be sure to check out W3Schools first and be sure to download FireBug for FireFox for troubleshooting.

Yes, I was trying to control the height via css, and the problem is that when I adjust the height of the logo, the navbar background also heightens. I basically want independent control of the logo size, not affecting other navbar items.

Thx for the help.

If you're trying to create your own custom WordPress menu, this isn't something we can assist you with as it is beyond our support.

However, I did write a simple guide on how to achieve a similar layout here - http://forum.pagelines.com/topic/32656-centering-fixed-navbar-logo-and-menu-also-resizing-logo/

Please be aware that some additional styling may be required and we will not be able to assist with that, but the above guide should get you on the right track.

Thanks for the reply. I tried to check out the link you provided, but I get this message: This forum is for customers with an active DMS subscription. If you have a subscription and need access simply go to the account and click support. Then follow the simple steps.

I have a Club Developer account, and when I tried the instruction on the message and went to my "account->support" page, I got "Unable to link to premium forums, no DMS detected." message. What do I need to do?

If you have a DMS key, go to your profile settings in the forum and enter it in the DMS key field, then logo out of the forums, next time you log in the key will be validated and your user will be added to the customer group.
