DMS 2.0.5 Post Pins Gutters and formatting issues

Recommended Posts

noomaking

Hi all. Attempted to upgrade to DMS 2.0.5. on a scratch site. Something I just test with.

http://www.artshark.com

As you will notice on the front page, Post Pins formatting has gone haywire.

A few things went haywire after the upgrade, (templates had to be redefined, child theme broken, etc.) But for now, I am just curious about Post Pins.

Any thoughts?

Please see here regarding Postpins and the formatting change related to the release of WordPress 3.9 >> http://forum.pagelines.com/topic/34575-postpins-issue-with-wordpress-39/?hl=postpins

Please make sure you check the forum for existing issues before posting ;)

This has been logged as a 'bug' previously so will be fixed soon.

For your other issue's if you can create a topic for each one we will take a look for you.

The answer to many issues can be found by searching in the forum before posting as someone else  may very well have had the same problem before you have.  Also, reading the documentation can help you gain a good understanding of how everything works.

I searched the forums, but I didn't recognize the problem as one with the Wordpress 3.9 upgrade. I was assuming it was a DMS 2.0.5 issue. The DMS 2.0.5 upgrade was not kind to my play site. I've worked 3 to 4 hours trying to get it back in shape and have decided to move on. I'm not sure what really happened, but I don't have the time to investigate and describe the problems. As for Post Pins, it takes too much time to trace the css and make custom modifications for a site that has no production value. I learned what I wanted to know. Post Pins is broken at the moment. I used to use Post Pins in the Framework environment effectively. Luckily, at the moment, I am not exposed. I had intended to use DMS and Post Pins for a new artist site. I imagine that option is off the table until a fix is issued.

Thank you

.postpin-wrap {
width:244px !important;
}

I am not completely sure that this is down to 2.0.5. Post pins works fine, and has done since that quick fix from Martin and batman. I have latest WP and DMS and it is working fine (on a test site). Your issue may lie with a plug in? Maybe jetpack?

OK, not sure why this is doing that, I experience the same issue too. I have reported this to our tracker.

Ok, I played a little more today. I disabled JetPack, cleared caches, removed Post Pins. I then added Post Pins back in. Initially the posts have no gutter but they flow nicely and are centered in the section. If I change a single parameter - gutter width or pin width - the layout disintegrates. It appears that Align left is invoked. Removing the parameters leaving the field blank, restores the center alignment.

Using what looks like the best case, changing no parameters, I added the CSS snippet above in customize. Cleared caches and reloaded the page. No noticeable effect. If I inspect the element postpin-wrap, it has the computed width of 255px. However, the code generated includes an inline style for position.

If I change the pin width parameter to anything, the code generated no longer includes the inline style for position.

With the above custom LESS in action (added via Wp admin > Pagelines >DMS Fallbacks)

I have not edited, under DMS Post Pins editor Pin width or pin gutter width as this makes the display go haywire

      Hi
      I have a map here http://www.iloveoffset.com/maps/
      I want to add several pointer locations to the map, but when I do they do not appear.
      On this map there are 2 pointer locations and as you can there is only one visible.
      Earlier today I added 7 and could only see 4 so there is something odd going on.
      My theme is up to date

      Hello,
      I've been having trouble unlocking the template section for past couple of weeks. When I try clicking nothing happens.
      I've deleted my custom css and removed plugins. Im down to having only the following plugins:
      Akismet
      Contact Form 7
      DMS Professional Tools
      Pagelines Updater
      WooCommerce
      It was working fine before i have no idea what's going on with it.

      My DMS 2 site http://www.heart-stone.com/ will not save any new custom css... I can still edit templates and publish those but any custom css that I enter never saves.
      All WP files, themes, and plugins are up to date.
      Any thought about what might be causing this?

      Is there a way to edit the custom CSS via FTP? I know I can edit the custom code in the Chrome editor but is there a file path I can use to find and edit the CSS directly from our FTP?
      Thanks in advance for the help!

      Using navbar section with correctly configured WP menu to display main navigation at https://elenaangel.com.
      All fine in desktop viewport. Menu displays twice in hamburger mode. How to fix this please?
