Blank site when logged in

Today I installed a Custom Post Plugin, and it worked all fine.

Then all of a sudden while I was trying to tweak inline CSS, the whole page was gone.

I can still log in.
I updated to the newest DMS2, deactivated all plugins, it doesn't help. Everything is gone, just white.

When I log out, it is there again.

Help! Thanks.

Thank you for answering.

I have deaktivated all plugins, still blank. There were only the pagelines plugins, 2 custom post plugins and a simple image widget plugin. No complex setup, yet.

I have changed "debug"  in the config file to "true". No effect, no error messages. I wonder if i did something wrong there.

I cannot imagine that the site uses too much memory, as it barely has any content in it yet. I am just starting.

I wonder if the best solution would be to start over with a fresh install...

HI,

Can you explain what you mean when you say you were trying to tweak inline CSS, as I am not entirely sure what you're referring to.

Also, can you enable DMS Debug mode (if possible) - DMS Toolbar > Settings > Advanced.

Make sure all plugins are disabled and all custom CSS/LESS and any scripts you may have added have been removed.

I tried out to change the font size and background on the either Filtering section or Masonic Gallery Section, I don't remember which. I added "background:red" in the field that says "Inline CSS, use sparingly". But that didn't cause the crash.
I also

The site works fine when I activate other themes.

How do I access the DMS Toolbar? In WP administration panel? Do I have to activate the pageline  plugins for that?

You can not access the DMS toolbar via the backend, it is front-end only.

Adding inline CSS like you said won't have caused your blank screen. The most usual culprit for White Screens of Death are PHP errors, such as ones you may have added to your functions.php via your child theme, editing the core files which we do not recommend nor support, third party plugins causing a conflict, a custom script you may have added yourself or via a plugin and/or your server configuration.

I recommend removing any custom scripts, all custom CSS (just to be sure), disable all active plugins and see if that resolves your issue, if it doesn't then it could well be your server. However, let us know the above suggestion resolves your issue.

Also, when you login and the screen is white can you provide the following please.

What URL is in your browsers address bar?

Open up Google Chromes inspection tools and see if that are any errors, this is usually indicated by a red icon in the bottom right hand corner, clicking will bring up the error. If there is an error, take a screenshot and add it to your reply, upload the screenshot to an image hosting website and provide the shortlink.

The only thing I had added (consciously) was piece of code which prevents author thumbs on blog posts. That didn't cause a problem though.

It showed up in a "LESS fallback" field (or something like that), and I removed it. I can't remove anything now that I might have added by mistake in the DMS frontend, because I don't have access.

I have deactivated all plugins.

Chrome developer tools don't show anything red, but a yellow warning sign saying

event.returnValue is deprecated. Please use the standard event.preventDefault() instead.

The URL is http://ullablog.ingridlill.de/

As I said, it works when I activate other themes, therefore I don't think there is an issue with the server configuration.

Hi there, in the PageLines tab in the Wp Admin area, there's a LESS fallback area where you can remove any custom css you've added into the css panel and save. http://screencast.com/t/XCqxuvHxzm

It might also be worth seeing if your host does a roll back service, this will allow you to roll back to yesterday or the day before's version of the site before the problem occurred.

Kindly search the forum and read the documentation before posting. It will help you resolve many issues.

For CSS help be sure to check out W3Schools first and be sure to download FireBug for FireFox for troubleshooting.

Thank you everybody for helping. Today mysteriously the site reappeared, without me doing anything :p
By re-activating the plugins one for one  I found that the "Advanced Category Excluder" plugin causes trouble, maybe that was the culprit. I only wonder why the site took 2 days to recover after I had deactivated all plugins.

Btw. Is it better to design the site locally? How much trouble is it to get the site online then?

Your site taking two days to recover is slightly odd, it could well be server cache related. I would contact your host and ask them, inform them of your issue and see if they know why it took two days.

Most developers, designers create their websites locally first, it is the best thing to do, as you have full control over the environment and configuration of the local server. If you want to then migrate that site to a live server you can follow the instructions on this articles.

      Hi
      I have a map here http://www.iloveoffset.com/maps/
I want to add several pointer locations to the map, but when I do they do not appear.
On this map there are 2 pointer locations and as you can there is only one visible.
Earlier today I added 7 and could only see 4 so there is something odd going on.
My theme is up to date

      Hello,
I've been having trouble unlocking the template section for past couple of weeks. When I try clicking nothing happens.
I've deleted my custom css and removed plugins. Im down to having only the following plugins:
      Akismet
      Contact Form 7
      DMS Professional Tools
      Pagelines Updater
      WooCommerce
It was working fine before i have no idea what's going on with it.

My DMS 2 site http://www.heart-stone.com/ will not save any new custom css... I can still edit templates and publish those but any custom css that I enter never saves.
All WP files, themes, and plugins are up to date.
Any thought about what might be causing this?

Is there a way to edit the custom CSS via FTP? I know I can edit the custom code in the Chrome editor but is there a file path I can use to find and edit the CSS directly from our FTP?
Thanks in advance for the help!
