Missing custom CSS

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I've recently moved one of my DMS sites from one server to another. I backed up my website files and database. I successfully restored the website and database on the new server but the custom CSS is missing. Can you please suggest how to retrieve this code? I'm using DMS 1.1.4.

Thank you.

HI,

Can you go to DMS Toolbar > Settings > Reset and click Flush, then refresh your site and see if this resolves your issue. If it doesn't, it's likely an issue caused by the way you have restored your site. When moving server, you need to follow the WordPress codex guide here - http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress

If you have followed these instructions exactly, there shouldn't be any issue. If the issue persists, you will need to provide a link to the site in question and enable DMS debug mode.

Hi Danny,

I have flushed the cache but had no success. Yes this was was my process of backing up and restoring the site.

I have enabled debug mode. The site is itspoppy.com.au.

Can you please take a look?

Thanks.

Hi Danny,

I successfully retrieved my custom CSS from Wayback Machine. I viewed the source of an archived page.

Awesome! However, you shouldn't need to do that. I attempted to view your debug info and it doesn't appear to be active anymore. The likely cause was the way you moved server to best of my knowledge. I have moved a few sites myself and haven't encountered this issue.

Also, just a quick tip, I generally keep any custom CSS I have on a separate file, when I update the sites CSS, I copy the entire code into this text file, that way I always have a backup in case of emergencies. I use a private repository on GitHub and have all my sites custom stylesheets there. You don't have to use GitHub, but you should keep a backup.

Hello everyone. :)   Is possible set a selected Section Area to height of window browser with custom CSS, just like DMS2 presets? Someone knows some best practice?   I know how to set to fixed footer, but i think this case of study is different.   Thanks!

I have pages that display on phones and pages for desktops/laptops.  The ipad displays the mobile/phone pages but would look far better if they displayed the desktop version.  How/Can I display the desktop version on ipad?  If I cannot do that, can you advise me as to the best course of action?  Thank you.
