Adding custom fonts from Typecast destroyed my site

Recommended Posts

paulzz1

Hi

Adding a couple of custom fonts (via a JS script from Typecast and some css — both added to the DMS custom script and css panels) completely messed up my site. I can no longer edit or access anything. It's just a jumbled mess on the screen. I know this isn't something you directly support but I was trying to find, in the themes folder, where that custom JS was added so I could delete it. Any ideas?

Attached screenshot.

Thanks

Paul

Hi Paul,

If you want to remove the problem, go to Wordpress Admin Dashboard > PageLines and there you will find the fallback system, simply remove your script and DMS Visual Editor should work as intended.

I haven't tried Typecast, but looking at their website (quick glance), is it supposed to add a panel like that to the front of your website, if so then its likely to conflict.

Hi Danny

Thanks for the reply.

It's happening in the backend too... I have no way to add or remove content.

Typecast doesn't add any bits to the chrome of the browser — simply adds links to validate paid-for fonts via a small JS.

The script HAS added the fonts I wanted in the body of the site but seems to have spilled over into the overall interface of DMS. Is there a PHP file that the custom code is added to? I've looked in various header.php files but can't locate it.

Any ideas or do I have to completely restart?

Not sure what you're referring too?

If you want to remove the conflict, you will need to revert the changes you have added, once your changes have been removed. The conflict should be gone and DMS working as intended.

Not sure what you mean by "Is there a PHP file that the custom code is added to? I've looked in various header.php files but can't locate it."

As I added the custom code to the font end, and the front end became messed up, I went to the dashboard and that too was in such disarray it was impossible to edit any input boxes. So, I was unable to, via those two means, to remove the custom code.

In my naivety, I imagined that the code I added in those boxes was inserted to a file in the backend somewhere. I was simply asking if that was the case and, if so, could it be removed from there as there was absolutely no way, in Chrome, to remove the offending code from the front.

About 20 minutes ago, and even though Pagelines recommends Chrome for DMS, I thought I'd try Firefox and, hey ho, it loaded the dashboard with no problem so I've been able to remove the code that messed it up and get back to where I was.

Thanks for your help - even if you didn't know what I was talking about!

Paul

Weird how it was OK in FF, but not Chrome. Anyway, happy to hear your issue has been resolved and thanks for informing us, we appreciate it.

      Hi
      I have a map here http://www.iloveoffset.com/maps/
I want to add several pointer locations to the map, but when I do they do not appear.
On this map there are 2 pointer locations and as you can there is only one visible.
Earlier today I added 7 and could only see 4 so there is something odd going on.
My theme is up to date

      Hello,
I've been having trouble unlocking the template section for past couple of weeks. When I try clicking nothing happens.
I've deleted my custom css and removed plugins. Im down to having only the following plugins:
      Akismet
      Contact Form 7
      DMS Professional Tools
      Pagelines Updater
      WooCommerce
It was working fine before i have no idea what's going on with it.

My DMS 2 site http://www.heart-stone.com/ will not save any new custom css... I can still edit templates and publish those but any custom css that I enter never saves.
All WP files, themes, and plugins are up to date.
Any thought about what might be causing this?

Is there a way to edit the custom CSS via FTP? I know I can edit the custom code in the Chrome editor but is there a file path I can use to find and edit the CSS directly from our FTP?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Using navbar section with correctly configured WP menu to display main navigation at https://elenaangel.com.
All fine in desktop viewport. Menu displays twice in hamburger mode. How to fix this please?
