Twitter for Wordpress breaks the theme

So I am installing the theme and when I put the Twitter username in and save it, the bottom where the copyright, etc. extends farther beyond the bottom than what it should. Even if I take out the Twitter username and deactivate the plug-in, the theme remains the same. I have to reset the theme for it to be fixed
