Request: remove placeholder tekst in TextBox

Recommended Posts

I have the request if the 'TextBox Section' placeholder text in the TextBox section can be removed.

I often use this section as a flexible title in between other sections. The possibility of choosing it to have a h2, h3, h4 etc header is nice. I don't use text in the text area in these cases. I can imagine that you show the placeholder tekst when in edit mode, but it has no use when in preview mode and when visitors watch a published page.

See screenshot for clarification.

Thanks, Jan

Hi janpeeters, I've used the text box in the same way. To get around this issue, copy the text you have in your "Title" area and paste it into the "Text content area". You'll just need to add in the htags (eg. <h3 class="zmt zmb">Title</h3>)

It works because the "Title" space is optional but the "Text content area" is not. Perhaps if they were to make both areas optional you could use the "Title" area just on it's own and not have placeholder text show up.

Hope that helps.

You can also add &nbsp; to either the title or the text area in order to had the placeholder text

The answer to many issues can be found by searching in the forum before posting as someone else  may very well have had the same problem before you have.  Also, reading the documentation can help you gain a good understanding of how everything works.

Martin Davies"] and @[member="bcote,

Thanks for your suggestions. Adding the header tags is what I did in earlier version to create title like headings and I was happy that it got added in some of the later versions of DMS 1.

In another thread: http://forum.pagelines.com/topic/33705-textbox-displaying-default-content/ I've added some custom CSS that does the job of hiding the default content. Still think that it would be great if both were optional and/or fully collapse if empty. I don't really see the use of having it displayed.

Thanks for considering adding this to the bugtracker/feature request list.

Best, Jan

I've got a client on a DMS ver. site. Using WP 4.5.2.
The site is clean from malware. And I've replicated the below problem with all plugins off except for DMS Pro Tools
      Here's the page: http://choralartsensemble.org/support/sponsors/
When a textbox or column with textbox on the page are deleted, upon save and refresh one or more textboxes in the header and footer loses its content. This is a repeatable occurrence.
Can you please tell me how to fix this so it does not happen again?

      I have a map here http://www.iloveoffset.com/maps/
I want to add several pointer locations to the map, but when I do they do not appear.
On this map there are 2 pointer locations and as you can there is only one visible.
Earlier today I added 7 and could only see 4 so there is something odd going on.

I have a problem with the regular textbox in pl5, in this case, the text goes in that container, but it will hide som of the text, as if the container itself won't fit?
Is this some kind of bug or have I done something stupid, never happend before with pl5 doh, can I do something smart about it?

I've been having trouble unlocking the template section for past couple of weeks. When I try clicking nothing happens.
I've deleted my custom css and removed plugins. Im down to having only the following plugins:
      Contact Form 7
      DMS Professional Tools
      Pagelines Updater
It was working fine before i have no idea what's going on with it.

My DMS 2 site http://www.heart-stone.com/ will not save any new custom css... I can still edit templates and publish those but any custom css that I enter never saves.
All WP files, themes, and plugins are up to date.
Any thought about what might be causing this?
