Creating a full width image section within DMS 2.0

Recommended Posts

I want to achieve a similar result as presented in on Jame's website http://jamesgiroux.co/ in his About me Section where he uses Text in one section container and an full width image in another.

How would I achieve this using only full width images within the canvas tool or if there's any other drag n drop I should be using seeing how when I use the canvas tool and add a background, the background only activates it's function when there's context within the section/canvas container itself.

Thanks

hello @timtimhungerfordcom

You can set a background image to the canvas section - James uses an image 2000 x 1332 http://screencast.com/t/fFBbQWToc

Try adding a text box to the canvas section and add   to the text area so there is no displayed content. Then in the padding add something like 100px 0 0 0 where the 100px is the height of the canvas area.

Now when you mention adding the padding, you mean into the canvas right? because I capped them at 200 px each and achieved the result I want through the canvas. Would this be a correct/alternative method? also if I want to go beyond 200 px, I can just create a custom style class and just put it in the css correct?

My apologies - i failed to add the screenshot - add the padding to the text box with the non braking space content (nbsp;)

like this http://screencast.com/t/d25MZfWt

Or yes, you can create a custom class and apply the class to the text box

I see, so adding padding into the canvas  isn't a viable choice or just better to operate within the textbox to ensure an easier transition whenever I want to incorporate a higher range of scale?

Just making sure so I know for future reference if I want to go beyond 200px

Added padding to the canvas won't work - the height of the canvas is dependant on the height of it's content.

No problem - others may have a better solution but i think this is the simplest and one that you can apply css to in order to make it scale for other devices.

      Hi
      I have a map here http://www.iloveoffset.com/maps/
I want to add several pointer locations to the map, but when I do they do not appear.
On this map there are 2 pointer locations and as you can there is only one visible.
Earlier today I added 7 and could only see 4 so there is something odd going on.
My theme is up to date

      Hello,
I've been having trouble unlocking the template section for past couple of weeks. When I try clicking nothing happens.
I've deleted my custom css and removed plugins. Im down to having only the following plugins:
      Akismet
      Contact Form 7
      DMS Professional Tools
      Pagelines Updater
      WooCommerce
It was working fine before i have no idea what's going on with it.

My DMS 2 site http://www.heart-stone.com/ will not save any new custom css... I can still edit templates and publish those but any custom css that I enter never saves.
All WP files, themes, and plugins are up to date.
Any thought about what might be causing this?

Is there a way to edit the custom CSS via FTP? I know I can edit the custom code in the Chrome editor but is there a file path I can use to find and edit the CSS directly from our FTP?
Thanks in advance for the help!
