Navi Megamenu Class

Recommended Posts

I created a main menu with sub-items. Saved everything, published it, but I cannot see where to place the megamenu class in the WP menu creation tool. Am I misunderstanding where the class goes?

On the Appearance > Menus page, you will see a "Screen Options" tab next to the "Help" tab (top right of your screen). Open this dropdown and click "CSS Classes" under the "Show advanced menu properties". You will now see the CSS Classes (optional) in you menu page nav, where you type in "megamenu".

I think that is what you are looking for?

Be inventive in your keyword search of the forum ie Navi > Navbar > menu > tabs > font > color. Your answer lies there somewhere!

Yep--that was it. Guess I haven't thought to check out the screen options before...how or why I don't know.

BTW--megamenu is a very cool feature and the first one I wanted to try on my test site.

Looking forward to digging into dms2.

Thanks & cheers!

Glad you like it :)

I am still completely lost.

In the WordPress back-end I opened Screen Options for the menus and checked the CSS Classes option under "Show advanced menu properties".

Nothing else changed anywhere that I can see.

I honestly don't know what "menu nav page" means (in GetMeWebDesign's comment) and I don't see "CSS Classes (optional)" anywhere so I must be looking in the wrong place. Nothing new appears in the WP Appearance/Menus page.

Equally confusing is the description in the blue box in the DMS configuration panel for Navi: "Simply add a class of "megamenu" to the list items using the WP menu creation tool.". I don't know what the term "list items" means since it doesn't appear anywhere else on this config panel or in the WP

Appearance/Menus page.

If "list items" refers to the menu items in the Menu Structure configuration section of WP, I am further confused because I would expect that "megamenu" would apply to the menu, not individual menu options.

Please help me make sense of all this.

When you checked the "CSS Classes (optional) in the screen options, it adds this custom field to the menu item. Then add pages underneath the menu item to which you've assigned the class "megamenu" and these will show up in the megamenu.  You only need to add megamenu to the top-level item. As far as I can tell, you can have several layers underneath it, and they will show up in submenus on the megamenu.

thank You, thats great. just question. I know, that you are not doing support with custom css, but - is possible to change the color of the megamenu? In DMS 1 I had the custom css code and I had a bigger fixed nav bar, I change the color of the drop-down menu & I would like to change it also (if is possible) in megamenu. Thanx for some information. Roman

Hi romanondrasek

Please, you can try with something like

.sf-menu li.megamenu > ul.sub-menu {
   background-color: red;}

.sf-menu li.megamenu > ul > li ul li a {
    background-color: red;}

Life is too short to remove USB safely ...

      Hi
      I have a map here http://www.iloveoffset.com/maps/
      I want to add several pointer locations to the map, but when I do they do not appear.
      On this map there are 2 pointer locations and as you can there is only one visible.
      Earlier today I added 7 and could only see 4 so there is something odd going on.
      My theme is up to date

      Hello,
      I've been having trouble unlocking the template section for past couple of weeks. When I try clicking nothing happens.
      I've deleted my custom css and removed plugins. Im down to having only the following plugins:
      Akismet
      Contact Form 7
      DMS Professional Tools
      Pagelines Updater
      WooCommerce
      It was working fine before i have no idea what's going on with it.

      My DMS 2 site http://www.heart-stone.com/ will not save any new custom css... I can still edit templates and publish those but any custom css that I enter never saves.
      All WP files, themes, and plugins are up to date.
      Any thought about what might be causing this?

      Is there a way to edit the custom CSS via FTP? I know I can edit the custom code in the Chrome editor but is there a file path I can use to find and edit the CSS directly from our FTP?
      Thanks in advance for the help!

      Using navbar section with correctly configured WP menu to display main navigation at https://elenaangel.com.
      All fine in desktop viewport. Menu displays twice in hamburger mode. How to fix this please?
