How to change widgets in Columnizer?

Recommended Posts

I'm using the Columnizer set with 4 widgets in my footer but don't understand how to change the widgets. I currently am using what displayed when I added it:

Where are some other choices?

I only have a Primary Sidebar on my Widget page. Should I be adding another Plug-In so I can add more widget choices?

You will want to create a custom sidebar as Batman suggested with his link above and then assign a widgets to that newly created sidebar. Once you have completed that, go to your Columnizer settings and select your new custom sidebar.

Thanks, guys. I get it now. I'd searched the Docs but missed seeing this one. Sorry I had to bother you.

No Need to apologise - Good to hear you got it sorted :)

The answer to many issues can be found by searching in the forum before posting as someone else  may very well have had the same problem before you have.  Also, reading the documentation can help you gain a good understanding of how everything works.

      Hello
Am upgrading a site made in DMS2 to Pl5. Have run into several snags I didn't anticipate from DMS sections the client liked and was used to in DMS not being available in Pl5.
Currently trying to recreate the "Columnizer" I used for the footer in cassClayton.com. Using the "sitemap footer" section, however that gives options for 3 menus plus a text ares (plus some socials and copyright text). Well I need the second 2 columns to NOT be menus, but rather the latest Posts and Comments.
Will appreciate some leads how to make this happen. Perhaps there is a different footer section that's ideal for this? Or should I simply drag a couple Container sections and Text sections to do this?  Also, kindly point me to a reference for shortcodes for "recent posts" and "comments".
Also, I loved the "RapidTabs" section for sidebars. Is there a replacement for that? Again, I need to find shortcodes for posts/comments, so any leads are much appreciated.
      thanks

      Hi guys,
I have been unsuccessfully trying to get my 3-column widgetized footer aligned centered. The widget section itself is aligned left because the alignment appears to be controller the widget's content only. The container that contains the widget section is aligned centered. I have chosen a 3 column layout and I added 3 widgets, assuming they would be aligned centered.
Any idea of what I may be doing wrong?
The page is question is: http://www.michaelkummer.com
      Thanks

We're seeing an abnormal break in widgets in Safari (El Capitan v10.11.4). 3 Widgets set for 4 of 12 columns each breaks correctly in Chrome and Firefox, but the 3rd widget goes to another line in Safari.
      Screenshot attached.
Hoping there's a CSS fix you could recommend in the meantime, until an update. You can see this on our home page: www.novusweb.com.

I have an issue with the widgets on my blog post page. The Facebook widget is being shifted up and next to the Mumii widget above...? How can I force it to remain underneath?

      Hello,
I added a post to my blog last night and as soon as I published the content, my "primary sidebar" fell to the bottom of the home page. When I go into other areas of the site, like "contact" or "about", the side bar comes back to where it belongs. So far I tried going to Appearance->Customize and then deleting and reducing assets in the "Widgets: Primary Sidebar" but nothing changed/worked.

I consider myself slightly savvy but I don't quite understand many terms and lingo with html and CSS - so I would appreciate the most laments terms possible when describing a solution.
