I only want the RevSlider and a Highlight I added beneath it to appear on the Homepage. Should I set them on Global or Local Section Options? Do I need to do anything else?

hello redstate

Just add those elements to the template you are using for the homepage (not the header which is a global template area and thus appears on every page. ). Save the template and set that template for the home page only.

Hi,
Any sections in the header or footer areas will appear site wide if you only want the rev slider to be on a certain page just make sure it is the template area (center area).
hope this helps

I'm using the Feature Template since the description listed next to it includes RevSlider but how do I save it to just the Home page? Do I use either of the two Actions listed? I've been using the Default Template for all the other non-home pages. Is that right? Wish there were some instructions about this in the docs but I don't see any. Thanks!

Hello redstate

The templates you have at the moment are \example' templates. You can create your own by dragging sections onto the template and then updating the template.

To create a  new template for your home page (or any other page)

On the home page. Go to the Visual editor and then navigate to 'templates. '

click 'save new template' & give the template a name and a description.

save the new template.

You can then assign the saved templates to any pages by going to visual editor and then using the options to manage the templates. You can set up a template for each page etc...

OK, I gave the new template a name (AEA Home) and brief description but I'm still a bit unclear. When I set up slides, do I use the Global or Local Section Options? It seems to automatically open to Global.

The page template area below the Header. The RevSlider looks great. Just still wondering about the Sections.

If you have your sections in the template area and only want the changes and settings to apply to the template area use the local settings. Global settings apply sitewide as in the header and footer.

Sorry but I'm still a bit confused. I have set up the Home page template as a local section and it works perfectly. Now I want to set up a template for all other website pages as a global section but the RevSlider and Highlight that I have on the Home page keep showing up, even though I've deleted them both several times. I've set up a page called "Other Pages." I don't have to set up a separate template for each page do I? I have dozens of pages. Or do I just set up a template for each Category?

Templates can be used on static pages so each page can be made different. For example you make three pages, home, about us and contact. You can have a different template on each of these.

The blog page, category pages, archive pages and search pages all work off of their own template, so if you set a template for for one it reflects that layout on the others. Single post pages also use their own template, so changes made on these will be reflected on all posts, for example add a slider into a single post, it will appear on each post.

If you've made a home template, make sure the sections you want to appear only on that template are within the template area, not the header/footer (these are global areas). Then create a new template called other pages. Go to one of your other pages and load the other pages template, design that template how you want it and in the templates tab click the 'actions' button, then the option to 'update template with current configuration' and save/publish. Your other page is now using the 'other pages' template. For each new page you create that you want to use this template, you'll need to load the template via the template tab. http://screencast.com/t/R6dKyfEZ

I am having an issue with DMS editor not loading.  Just keeps spinning and spinning.
Have tried several things - Logged in and out, cleared cache, deactivated all plugins, but the issue persists.
I even had our host restore from a backup a few weeks ago, when I know it WAS working, as I edited a text box on the homepage.  The restore from backup didn't help either.
Also, the front end of the site shows that the site is framed, or boxed now (whatever you call it), instead of full width as it was previously (last week).
Dev console shows that there are php errors in Google maps - file is attached.
Can someone please help?  Not sure what else I can do here...
      Thanks in advance.
