Sections grayed out + inability to enable comments

Apologies for possibly two very stupid questions.

We would like to enable comments on the Blog page at http://alexmyo.com. I've tried everything, with no luck.

In a related matter, some of my Pagelines sections are grayed out and can't be pulled onto pages. One of these is the Comments section; see attached screenshot.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi mnagillum

Please, you can see this

You can not add a comment to the "blog Page"

You can see this

You see "where you find comments"

For this you can add comments at blog Page and you see "grayed" the Pagelines sections

Life is too short to remove USB safely ...

Thanks, Batman. Looks as though these are wordpress.com tips. In any case, they didn't work. :(

When sections are greyed out, it means that those section do not and should not be used on that particular template. As you mentioned, you're attempting to add the comments section to your blog page, the comments section can not be used on your blog. No blogs anywhere allow comments to be displayed on the main blog page, the reason for this is, if you were to add a comments form or comments, what would the user be commenting on ?

Comments are specific to pages or posts and can not be used on dynamic pages that contain multiple content from different posts.

Please search our forums, before posting!

Thanks for the information. Of course that's right, but everything I read tells me I should be able to enable comments on specific posts, and the posts can be put on a page called "blog" (or any other name). I've selected "Blog" as the page where posts should appear, and the post does appear there.

I found the same problem in the Framework forum, with no apparent resolution. I am still having this difficulty in PageLines DMS. Everything is up to date, and I'm running WordPress 3.8.1.

The page where the problem occurs is http://www.alexmyo.com/blog/. The comment section is grayed out even when the post is selected. The comment section is live only for the home page, even though I have selected the Blog page as the page where posts are to appear (and the post obviously did find its way there).

Any ideas?

Thanks again.

As Danny has already stated you cannot put the comments area on any archive page. It will only work on a single post or page.

is your single post, if you add the post loop section and comment section here you will see what we mean.

A further example...

http://pross.org.uk/ This is my own site and this is the 'blog' page. It can have 1, 100, or a million posts here on the blog page. Click on one of the post links and you go to the single post page, this is where the comments go.

      Hello There,
So i want to use platform 5 and DMS sections on a single page, i am using a child theme with pinspro as my main theme and i activated platform 5, the only problem am having so far is the fixed option, my navbars are not aligning to their default size, and it will be great if platform 5 header and footer section will function, has anyone used this option, how can i make the best use of platform 5 and DMS on a site

I tried to make a simple change on my opt-in page today by reordering two sections.
Now they won't save and whatever I do, the same 2 section will be stuck to the top.
This is a huge problem since it is my opt-in page!
(I'm on the latest WP & PL version)

I have to say that I like the Layout and the Template based sections. Some of them are really impressive.
One of the things that I would like to request though is the possibility of being able to dynamically rearrange the layout.
An example of what I am talking about is take the Agency Section. It's current layout starts with the
Splash Module then the Portfolio Module then the Service Module and so on and so forth.
What would be great is if we were able to move these modules around. I.e have the Service Module first
then maybe the Splash, and then the portfolio.

Does the magazine section not support comments?  I have comments allowed but they aren't showing on post pages and there doesn't seem to be a way to add a comments section in either.
      Many thanks in advance.
