QuickSlider Bug

I have a QuickSlider installed on my clients site http://www.atlantismortgage.com on the home page and every day over the last two weeks the QuickSlider will revert itself to the pagelines default slider. I have to open the page for the home page and then resave it to get it to work again.

When I am in the DMS editor - BEFORE I re-save it - IT displays the proper QuickSlider that I created. Which is weird because when I am signed OUT of the site, it shows the default pagelines images/QuickSlider on the live site.

 

**And even weirder I just went to look at the DMS Editor on a different page than the home page in Google Chrome and it DID show the wrong QuickSlider.

 

Pretty crazy. I attached a screenshot of that.

 

I am happy to create a login for you to investigate.

Could you enable PageLines debug for us in the Visual Editor > Site settings > Advanced 


The answer to many issues can be found by searching in the forum before posting as someone else  may very well have had the same problem before you have.  Also, reading the documentation can help you gain a good understanding of how everything works.

Right now would be a great time to go look at the site because it is using the default pagelines slider - again.

This has happened no less than 3 or 4 times today and every time I have to go to the home page and resave it. It also happens on the inner pages. Very frusterated.

Can you check you have enabled the debug as we cannot access the debug page.

I have enclosed screenshots showing that debug is on. When I clicked on "This information can be useful in the forums if you have a problem. 
Click here for your debug info."

 

 

It opened in a new window and gave me a fatal error. I also attached that screenshot.

In order to expedite this I have created you an admin login. Please login and change the password immediately to whatever you want.

Pasting your admin logon on the forum is a very bad idea thus i have removed the logon - i will take a look at this for you

You have added in a style class of 'arrow' then added in line style next to it.- try removing the CSS from here and adding this to the Custom CSS field under the arrow class. you will have to add the arrow class to the CSS as you currently havent got anything in there in relation to .arrow

 

use 

.arrow { STYLE GOES HERE }

then remove the inline style from there. 

 

Also there are a number of problems with your Custom CSS you have added to the custom CSS field. 

 

Run your CSS through the validator in the next link (use the direct input and copy and paste your css into the field) here >>>  http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/#validate_by_input

 

Once you have fixed the CSS issues let us know what happens to the slider. 

 

Also try disabling all none PageLines plugins to see if there is a conflict. 

 

Also you have Googlefonts plugin in your plugins but this is not required for DMS. it doesn't do anything for DMS - and all the info you need to add extra googlefonts top DMS is in the typography settings in DMS visual editor - see here http://screencast.com/t/yTrUaaRN

 

As far as i can see  the quickslider is displaying the slides you added and i can't replicate the issue. That's not to say it isn't happening.

We did as you suggersted and the Slider is still doing the same thing whenever I update any plugin or dms.

Hi Charra

 

Looks like you have section cache enabled in the DMS Pro Tools plugin, this is being applied to the quickslider. Some options in the Pro Tools Plugin won't work with all hosts, I would say try disabling this, flushing the less via the resets tab in the DMS control panel > settings and then seeing if the changes save on the template when you publish.


Kindly search the forum and read the documentation before posting. It will help you resolve many issues.

For CSS help be sure to check out W3Schools first and be sure to download FireBug for FireFox for troubleshooting.

      I am stumped here, The Mega menu drop down menus are going under the Quickslider.

      I received our monthly Alexa report, and it pointed out that there were missing alt tags on EVERY page on our site. Upon closer inspection, it looks like the QuickSlider which is used for the scrolling banners at the top of the site doesn't bring in the alt tags. Recently, you made a change to the RevSlider to allow images to have "alt" tags. Can you do that for the QuickSlider too?

      Hi!
      Could really use some help on this one:
      How can I customize the navigation in the quickslider?
      The navigation (previous and next slide) is a font awesome icon which looks like a simple grey box.
      1. I'd like to replace this with custom arrow images?
      2. Is it possible to also add to the navigation: first slide/last slide?

      I am getting pretty tired of things that does not work as it should in DMS. Now it is impossible to have a two column footer with quickslider as one of the items. Take a look here http://pehjaproduction.se/kulingen/

      Hi, i'm in the process of building a site for a client, but the the dropdown part of the navbar is going behind the quickslider section. Ive tried removing and re-adding the sections but it doesn't changes anything. I've  never had this problem before when using these sections. 
      The Navbar is in the headder and the quickslider is on the main page. The site is http://tvfrom.net
