Navbar Customizations

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if there was a doc that I missed that talked about customizing the navbar? I would really love a list of customizations that can be done. I have noticed a lot of the themes will have a larger Fixed Navbar with a larger logo, how do you do this? Also is there a way to change the fixed navbar to the exact color of my choice? Make the Navbar a certain texture/image? Is there a way to a make a navbar like the simplycleanmeals.com link below has? These are all things I want to start offering clients but I feel like I need to know how to do them before I offer them.

Hi there,

To make advanced edits to the navbar you'd need to use some custom css. Using a web inspector like firebug or chrome dev tools you'll need to find the existing color/code applied to the navbar and then remove it or change it to the colors of your choice. You can also tweak the color of the font or the size of the font inside the menu etc.

Check out http://docs.pagelines.com/customize/how-to-customize which has an overview of editing css inside the framework if you've not used it before. Also check out thread http://forum.pagelines.com/topic/24634-fixed-navbar-css-for-changing-background-colour/ which has the full browser code for the navbar available.

Kindly search the forum and read the documentation before posting. It will help you resolve many issues.

For CSS help be sure to check out W3Schools first and be sure to download FireBug for FireFox for troubleshooting.
