Pixel Width Layout Mode

Recommended Posts

yaerproductions

Hello,

I am new to DMS after having been very comfortable with Pagelines Framework for many years.

In Pagelines, I had a clear understanding of how to set page width, etc.

In DMS, I have found that I can set it to either a pixel or percent, but regardless of which I select, I cannot find a way to set the pixels or the percent.

Please see the screenshot in which I am attempting to update global settings for the site. I have set the layout mode to "pixel width" but I have no idea how many pixels this is!! This is problematic because when I go to embed images, videos, etc, the item is keeping the height specified in the embed code, but it is flexing the width to match the page width. So all video embeds have these horribly ugly black bars on them. I can do a bunch of trial and error to figure it out... or there could (should) be an easy built-in way for DMS to just tell me how wide the page is, right?

Please let me know if you have any ideas!!

Hi there, once you set the width options in the layout then this sets the site to either pixel or % depending on what you have selected. Then by dragging the edge of the layout in/out on the live drag and drop editor you can set the size. Notice the size guide when the editor is dragged in the top of the right hand side of the editor - http://screencast.com/t/S7yKnhfG6Z

Kindly search the forum and read the documentation before posting. It will help you resolve many issues.

For CSS help be sure to check out W3Schools first and be sure to download FireBug for FireFox for troubleshooting.

How can I get support on pagelines DMS? The product isn't that old and my skeleton themes aren't working and I can't get support in the same way?

I have a number of legacy websites that are running on the above version of Pagelines DMS, where the template has stopped working. I am using a skeleton theme to all of them. What do I need to do to rectify this.

I am having an issue with DMS editor not loading.  Just keeps spinning and spinning.
Have tried several things - Logged in and out, cleared cache, deactivated all plugins, but the issue persists.
I even had our host restore from a backup a few weeks ago, when I know it WAS working, as I edited a text box on the homepage.  The restore from backup didn't help either.
Also, the front end of the site shows that the site is framed, or boxed now (whatever you call it), instead of full width as it was previously (last week).
Dev console shows that there are php errors in Google maps - file is attached.
Can someone please help?  Not sure what else I can do here...
      Thanks in advance.
