Navbar image and media box are not visible on all pages

Hello,

I've notice that the navbar icon and mediabox are broken by I toggle between the French and English sides of my site.

Why is this?  I've tried reuploading the images when on the French side of the site but it won't "take".

Hi there, please see the following post - http://forum.pagelines.com/topic/32456-dms-wpml-images-not-loading/?hl=wpml+images this is to do with the multi language plugin requiring a static image url according to the previous thread.

Kindly search the forum and read the documentation before posting. It will help you resolve many issues.

For CSS help be sure to check out W3Schools first and be sure to download FireBug for FireFox for troubleshooting.

Hi James,

I don't have access to that post but I put in the static image url and it's now working.

I noticed though with the RevSlider, the text is the same on French and English sites - shouldn't it allow for the user to update the text depending on language?

Hi Jane

Apologies I didn't realize that content was restricted. I've pasted below for you, the plugin rewrites the url field for the image

In regards to the slider text, there have been a few people mention similar to this with WPML, the WPML team are in contact with our developer team working out a solution. Apparently other plugins like transposh and polylang don't have this problem, so it must be something in the way the plugin is constructed, once a fix is issued and pushed it will be included in a following update.

This happens in the translated site because WPML changes the home ([pl_site_url]) from yoursite.com ---> yoursite.com/en

So

[pl_site_url]/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/favorite.jpg

ends up being:

<im src="http://yoursite.com/en/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/favorite.jpg">

And the image does not exist there. It should be:

<im src="http://yoursite.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/favorite.jpg"> So the [pl_site_url] has the "/en/" thing if the language is english (or other second language) and the url is not correct.

You can fix this by substituting the [pl_site_url] -part with your site url. For example instead of "[pl_site_url]" you put "http://mysite.com"
But we of course want a better fix.
