Font appearing very bold in Chrome

Recommended Posts

motionltd

Hi there. I set a website live today and a client has called saying theres a problem with the text. The text in their browser as gone very bold. See attached. The one where the text is not broken is how it should look. The bold broken one is how the client is seeing it in Chrome, I think on a PC.

Is your client the only one who sees it that way or do you also see it like that?

Can you share the url with us?

Could it be a cache issue?

How have you set the text in that section? Are you using the font weight option from inside the admin panel? Sometimes depending on the browser these don't always take affect - http://screencast.com/t/9maYRqNry

If you're using css on the item, can you paste us the code you're using and a link to the site and we'll check it out.

Kindly search the forum and read the documentation before posting. It will help you resolve many issues.

For CSS help be sure to check out W3Schools first and be sure to download FireBug for FireFox for troubleshooting.

Hi James. I have the font set to normal in the main typography settings, no css in the section, but I have this in the custom css mainly to change the sizing and padding:

.btn-large {
  width: 180px;
  height: 23px;
    border-radius: 4px;
    font-size: 14px;
    line-height: normal;
    padding: 10px 30px 10px 30px;
}

I am not seeing any issue on Chrome for Mac - http://d.pr/i/arMW

Does the issue occur for you when you're not using custom CSS ?

Please be aware that we do not provide support for user created code.

It was a client who had the issue. I've not heard back from them and I don't have any more info. I did make the button wider so at least it doesn't get broken onto 2 lines. I will sit tight now and see if anyone else complains. Thanks for you input.

Cheers

Ben
