IE 11 revslider bug : images appear stretched

Recommended Posts

hello people,

We created a web site for our business and there is a really annoying bug which only appear with internet explorer 11.

here the bug:

 - go on the site with ie 11

 - check the revslide on the site (home page, distribution,agent,...)

 - the first time you access the site, there always one of the banners displayed on a weird stretched version.

 - you reload the page and every is fine.

 - but we cannot ask the user to reload the page is a banner of the revslide looks weird ;)

We tried to reduce the weight on the banner in case it is a loading/download problem but it change nothing. All the banners are 2000x800px.

Everything is fine with chrome.

we use DMS 1.1.5 pro version with WP 3.8.

thanks!

Hi there, I'm on a mac but can see the resizing happening via browserstack. If you switch the layout from boxed layout to full width, does this still happen in ie 11? From what I can see in browserstack it doesn't, but please check on your setup and confirm. It could be that revslider loads full width first and then once the rest of the page loads it gets re-sized to fit the box layout. I'll check with our developer tomorrow to see how the slider is re-sized.

Hello James,

The setup was and still set to "Pixel width based layout" and "Full Width Display".

When I clean the IE cache, the streched banners are back.

thanks for you help.

Hi there,

I've spoken to the dev team and asked them, they've asked to see a screen cast of it happening live. I've tried to record one off of browser stack but its not quick enough to capture it in a virtual environment.

Could you please screencast using jing or similar - http://www.techsmith.com/jing.html and post the link to the video so I can refer to them.

Trying to convert a site over to PL5 from DMS2. Can we use revslider? Can any portion of DMS2 be editable or imported through PL5?
I'm trying to wrap my head around the new PL5 os, but things have changed so much it like learning a new software. I DO like the new UI! Great job.

      Hi Guys,
I just went live with this site. http://bikenet.org/
I can see the video background in Firefox, Chrome and IE on my computer as well as my husband's computer and my phone. So I am not able to see any problem.
But, my client says she cannot see the video background in Chrome?? Any ideas?
      Let me know. Thanks!

Problem: Full Screen Revslider content runs off the screen on mobile devices (particularly calls to action buttons).  I've used the <br> to break up the text, however the call to action buttons run off the screen.  Therefore without making the fix too technical (and I can see some VERY technical resolutions on here) my client just wants to simple centre justify the text when being viewed on a mobile device.
Any ideas on how best to achieve this in a simple, non too technical way?
      Thanks very much in advance

      Hi there,
I'm trying to place the menu bar on top of a Revslider image using negative top margins and z-scores to place the Revslider under the menu as per this forum post: https://forum.pagelines.com/topic/37996-menu-inside-full-width-slider/
It looks great in Chrome and Safari but in Firefox the slider doesn't spread out across the page. Instead it stops when it collides with the items in the menu (i.e. logo and menu items). Any advice on what I'm doing wrong?
The full site is here: http://seemly-hobby.flywheelsites.com/
      Thanks a lot!
      Al
