Setting Test Site Live

Recommended Posts

motionltd

Guys, I know this is mainly a main WordPress thing, but what am I doing wrong! I have created a /test folder where I built my site, I have been trying to follow this guide to move it live. http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress but either this requires serious server knowledge or I'm missing something.

Is it really complex to do this? Also, is there anything in DMS I need to do?

Cheers

Ben

Worked it out in the end using this. Much better than WPs tutorial.

[Edit by moderating team] - Make sure you copy/paste your custom css into your new site via the css/LESS panel as this included in the migration process. Has to be done manually. See - http://docs.pagelines.com/getting-started/upgrading-migration for the migration steps.

Yes, sorry I don't know why 2 got generated and I couldn't work out how to delete the other one.

One thing I should have mentioned, I did a DMS export before moving, then imported when the site was in the new location as I noticed the Custom CSS had not carried over. Maybe this can be added to the best answer post?

Hi there,

The custom css doesn't migrate in custom settings unfortunately, you'll need to migrate this manually as per - http://docs.pagelines.com/getting-started/upgrading-migration.

I'll edit your best post to include this.
