Using The Full Revolution Slider Plugin Inside of Flatten

Framework Version:  DMS
WordPress Version: 3.8
Plugins in Use: Revolution Slider, Business Branding, Better iBoxes, DMS Pro Tools, Duplicator, etc
Server/Host: Dreamhost

I was wondering if there is any way to use the full Revolution Slider plugin from CodeCanyon within the Flatten Theme.  I purchased the full version, and it has a drag and drop interface for the slider which I have found very easy to use.  I have been able to build animated sliders just the way I want them, even with my super novice coding skills.  The Flatten theme has its own version of the Revolution Slider incorporated into the theme, but requires coding to animate with no preview window.

I have built functional animated slides with the full version within Wordpress and tried to drop the created shortcode onto the pages where I want it to appear, but have not had any luck.  I also see no way to import prebuilt slides into the Flatten Theme's RevSlider interface.

Any ideas out there?

Hi,

There are two methods to use the Revolution Slider plugin with DMS.

1. You can use the FullBox section created by one of our store devs and add the shortcode.

2. Use a hook. The most professional method of adding a slider such as Revolution Slider or Layer slider would be to use a hook.

You can download the Full Box and Full MediaBox section from here - https://github.com/pagelines/DMS/issues/537

If you want to use hooks, see our documentation - http://docs.pagelines.com/advanced/hooks

You could also use hooker and/or ActionMap which is included in the DMS Pro Tools plugin which will make your life much easier.

My preference and our developers preference would be to use a hook, but the choice is up to you, some users prefer the ease of using the shortcode, as they're not comfortable with hooks.

Danny I have tried the FullBox section with shortcode from Revolution Slider... and it does not seem to work...

The section is there, but does not seem to take the shortcode... Did I miss something?

FTY... I have the paid version of DMS... and loaded the section in the child theme... There was a folder inside a folder in that zip..I placed the inside folder in the section area of the child theme...

Tested the shortcode in the content area and Revolution slider works...

Hi there, the section folder needs to be in the child theme with the fullbox folder inside of that. If you can see the icon in the drag and drop like http://screencast.com/t/rSNmwLK15 you've done it correctly.

You will need to save and publish the changes then refresh the page to see the slider load.

Kindly search the forum and read the documentation before posting. It will help you resolve many issues.

For CSS help be sure to check out W3Schools first and be sure to download FireBug for FireFox for troubleshooting.

Yes I can see it and have applied it on this page...
Here is the section..http://bit.ly/1e9q7sO

However, slider does not show up in the section...

Can this full text section take shortcode?

It does show inside of content area.

FYI... I did not load the Theme Flatten... This is DMS with child theme.

I am having a similar problem. I have added Full Box to my DMS site and successfully inserted the section onto my page. However, the revolution slider shortcode does not render a slideshow. I tested to make sure that any shortcode would work by inserting a google map shortcode which displays correctly.

The problem seems to be that the Full Box will not recognize the Revolution Slider (purchased from Code Canyon) shortcode. Any thoughts on what might be causing this? If it is helpful I can provide the site URL.

Thanks!

Try placing the shortcode in the title field, if that doesn't work, you're going to need to use a hook to display the slider.

      Hi,
I'm trying to add another slide to the home page slider here -
      http://www.conventionsetc.info/index/
I add it, then hit "Publish" but it is not working.  There are only 5 slides no idea why it suddenly won't let me add more slides.
      Thanks for your help.

      http://www.kate1000.com   - Theme Flatten - Pagelines pro - DNS
      HEllo,
Love my responsive site - I don't have a " mobile url" because my site is responsive. - but on mobile, my site opens to a blank wordpress with a horrid menu. The viewer  has to navigate to some--> tiny tiny light blue link that says " see full site". <-- To see my site -
I don't know if this is a pagelines issue, a flatten template theme issue , a wordpress issue or hosting issue, or dns issue.

How can I make my full responsive template site -> be  <- the site they see right away? instad of that untemplated linked wordpress page.

Did I mention net week I have an interview and a few key folks  will be looking at my site over the week - omg  -
Thank you anyone who can help!!

Hi, I am using DMS2 - 2.1.9.3. and Wordpress 4.2.2., not Flatten but could not see how else to post this topic.  I recently bought the Video Slider plugin and after I uploaded and activated it, my site won't load (this is what I see... Oops, There may be an issue loading.
DMS typically loads in less than 5 seconds. Please check for Javascript or PHP errors.
(Typically, slow or incomplete loading is related to plugin conflicts or server issues.)

I thought the problem was probably a conflict with my site's other plugins, so I deactivated each plugin one by one.  That was not the problem.  The culprit itself is the Video Slider plugin.  I then tried to upload the plugin on my other sites and still have the same problem.  Not sure what to do next to resolve this.  Here's my url - http://www.lorilaws.net/ Thanks in advance.

      Hi Guys,

I noticed this a while back but thought it happened back when there was security issues with the wordpress plugin revolution slider and thats why they disappeared, but thinking i was wrong now as mine are the DMS versions.

      Basically, my front end editor is missing the icons for;

      • Rev Slider
      • Revolution Slider
      • Quick Slider

What i've also noticed is a difference in how the menu tabs on the left hand side of the front end editor have changed. They were not styled like this before. Its like the css is off or something isnt quite right with the install somehow, somewhere.

Even though the icons are missing for the slider sections. I can still drag them onto my pages and configure them, to a certain degree anyway.

I tried adding the revolution slider to a page yesterday. But it wasnt responding to the way i had configured it. I choose a slide set for it to use and it took no notice. It just used every slide and every caption regardless.

Leaving the revolution slider behind i took a look at the rev slider. Adding the correct images is fine. But i don't get any captions showing when i set them? Tried a few different options but nothing.

Id like to know if my pagelines DMS 2 install is corrupt in anyway? Does anyone else's front end editor look the same as mine? Is anyone else missing the icons for the sliders and have no padding-right for the menu items?

Is anyone using any of the sliders at the moment without issues?

Im using the child theme 'Sophistique" which uses the revolution slider on the homepage. It works fine and its configured the way i want it using thh slide sets ive choosen so dont understand why it would be working inside the website.

Any advice or help is appreciated. Thank for your time guys. Ben
