scrollspy questions

Hello,

I am thinking about switching from a fixed nav bar at the top of my website to using scrollspy. I understand how to do the basic implementation from the documentation but I have a few questions.

1) On a mobile device, it seems like the scrollspy navbar doesn't stay at the top with the small menu icon that I had when using the fixed navbar. How can I get this to work?

2) How can I put my logo in the scrollspy navbar?

) How can it be full width the whole time instead of only when you start scrolling?

This is all similar to wndrmnt.com that is used as an example of how one can use scrollspy navigation.

And I assume scrollspy should be at the top of the content/template area and not in the header area.

thanks for any help,

jane

Hi Jane,

1. Unfortunately the ScrollSpy section doesn't offer the same functionality as the Fixed Navigation. So this isn't possible without customizing the section itself.

2. Unfortunately, this too isn't possible.

3. Again, this would require customizing the section.

The ScrollSpy isn't a replacement or alternative to a Fixed Navbar or any standard Wordpress menu. It purpose is to quickly navigate to specific elements on your page.

Thanks, Danny.

I don't understand when you say that it is not designed to replace the standard menu when it seems that's what a lot of the examples of scrollspy navigation exactly do. I even saw the social
share icons in the top scrollspy menu. So I assumed it would require customization and am wondering how to do it.

I'm also a bit surprised that since DMS is responsive, why it wouldn't show the scrollspy bar in a "mobile" format.

Any help in customizing would be appreciated!

If users have customized the ScrollSpy section to replace their navigation that is fine. However, the intention was and is for ScrollSpy to Scroll nicely to your content that you have tagged.

Also, ScrollSpy is responsive, it works perfectly on both tablet and mobile devices, just because it doesn't do what the Fixed NavBar does when viewed on a mobile device doesn't mean its not responsive.

Your answer to #2 isn't helpful lol would we have to customize a navbar to have scrollspy capabilities then (just to have a log on it)?

ScrollSpy hasn't been designed to include a logo image. If you wish to have this functionality, you will need to customise the section yourself. We do not provide a customisation service. However, if you're not comfortable doing this level of customisation personally, you can contact our helpdesk who can provide you with contact details for trusted agencies and developers who can do this for you for a fee.

      Hi,

I have been using DMS and pagelines.
I am facing to a huge trouble with the appearance of one of my page on mobile (smart phones) built with pagelines.
However I haven’t come to any solutions to organise either edit the appearance of mobile view to look neat or deactivate the responsive function.
Now it looks totally messy on the phone...

      1. Is there any way to edit the appearance of the mobile version (responsive theme)?
      2. Is there any way to deactivate responsive function?

If I could receive support from you to go thorough this process I would be happy to be a pro member.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

      Hi,
I desperately need to deactivate the responsive function on mobile for reasons. It looks so messy with the responsive look on mobile and not navigating or informative at all as it is.
I searched for solutions online and tries some of those that I found but nothing worked out. Also I found a previous post on this forum says that this theme pagelines DMS is not meant to be build to deactivate the responsive function...
Also tried with widget such as WPtouch to edit the mobile look a little more informative but as I am using "single page" theme on pagelines, the frontpage(main page) never appears on those app.
      Seems like not compatible?
If there is no way to deactivate responsive function or I'll have to recreate another page just dedicated for a mobile page? or change the theme completely and build a page from scratch?
I have been searching for this for two days already...
Could anyone wise and kind out there, please help me?

      Thanks,
