Pagination does not appear to be working

I've been playing around with Filtering and can't seem to get the pagination working.

Whenever I click on the Next button or one of the number button, the only thing that happens is that the entire page refreshes (not just the page within Filtering).

The actual excerpts don't change.

When I hover over the Next button or one of the number buttons, I can see that there are links to more pages (e.g., /page/2) but the pagination does not appear to be working.

Another thing...not sure whether this is a bug (related to the first issue) or if this would be considered a feature request...but I have Filtering set to display 12 items, with a total of 10 custom post type categories.

There are probably 10 posts in each category but when I click on a link for a specific category, the only thing that happens is that all other category excerpts disappear from the page, leaving only one from the specific category.

The number of pagination buttons/links/pages don't change (still shows that there are ten pages of excerpts).

I would have expected that it would have pulled in all posts in that category up to the limit set in pagination (and then made any excerpts over the pagination limit available via pagination).

I've tested with all other plugins set to inactive and still get the same result.

I'm running the latest version of DMS, WordPress, Filtering, etc.

Any ideas on this?

dawsonbarber Pagination should be working on the navigation links -- do you have a site where I can view what you are doing? It does load the whole page again but it should then show the next 12 posts and their categories to filter by. Pagination isn't perfect at this point. It only displays the number of posts you have selected and the categories for those posts to filter by.

I am currently exploring adding AJAX in order to do what you are asking -- show the number of posts for the category selected and then paginate - if that makes sense. Hopefully that will be something in the next major upgrade, the beginning of the year. Send me a link for your site if you can and thanks for the feedback/suggestions.

Hi Ellen

I'll PM you a link to the site in a day or two (I've just got a few other priorities to finish up with before I can do that).

Adding Ajax would be awesome.

      Hi,
I've added the Post/Page pagination section to the bottom of the blog category page on the dev site here (see screenshot): http://dianef.sandboxes.online/category/intention-and-invention-blog/ but it is giving me the message "Post/Page Pagination is hidden or returned no output", and when viewing the page in another browser, I see nothing.
Does anyone have an idea why this might be?

Your help is much appreciated in advance.

      Thank you,
      Perry

Hi, I wonder how I can edit the function pl_pagination in  function.php located plugins > pl-platform > engine > lib without editing the core-file, that will be overwritten from time to time.
When I place the same code in my function.php located in my child theme, it just gets error.
What the practice here, to edit that function, I want to replace for ex. "Next Entries" and the arrow to something else.
This is what the original code looks like:
      /** * * Pagination Function * * @package PageLines Platform 5 * @subpackage Functions Library * @since 5 * * Single posts need to use next_post_link() * Archives can use next_posts_link() * */ function pl_pagination() { if ( function_exists( 'wp_pagenavi' ) ) : wp_pagenavi(); else : ?> <ul class="pl-pager page-nav-default fix"> <?php if( is_single() && ! is_page() ) { printf( '<li class="previous previous-entries">%s</li>', get_previous_post_link( '%link' ) ); printf( '<li class="next next-entries">%s</li>', get_next_post_link( '%link' ) ); } else { printf( '<li class="previous previous-entries">%s</li>', get_previous_posts_link( __( '&larr; Föregående','pl-platform' ) ) ); printf( '<li class="next next-entries">%s</li>', get_next_posts_link( __( 'Nästa &rarr;','pl-platform' ) ) ); } ?> </ul> <?php endif; } // As a callback with nav args associated function pl_menu_callback( $args ) { pl_menu_fallback( $args['menu_class'] ); } function pl_menu_fallback( $class = '', $limit = 5 ) { $pages_out = pl_page_list( $limit ); printf( '<ul class="%s">%s</ul>', $class, $pages_out ); } function get_pl_nav_default( $args ) { $limit = ( isset( $args['limit'] ) ) ? $args['limit'] : 6; $pages_out = pl_page_list( $limit ); return sprintf( '<ul class="%s">%s</ul>', $args['menu_class'], $pages_out ); }

Hi there, does PowerLoop work with the pagelines page / post pagination section?
All I want to display a grid of 2 columns of posts using PowerLoop and add in pagination after say 10 posts - is this possible?  I've added the page/ posts pagination section and it says 'returned no output'. As a test Powerloop is set to show 3 posts - which it does but there are no page links to see the remaining posts - there are several more than 3.
      Many thanks in advance.

      Hi,
I'm currently using the Filtering plugin on a website that is not yet live (http://www.RetroLeaders.com/ - currently hidden by a "Coming Soon" plugin) however after updating to the most recent version of Wordpress and DMS the Filtering plugin has stopped working and is causing DMS to display the never ending load icon.
Inspecting the code for errors I see the following problems:
      . jquery.isotope.min.js?ver=1.7.4:11 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'opera' of undefined (anonymous function) @ jquery.isotope.min.js?ver=1.7.4:11 (anonymous function) @ jquery.isotope.min.js?ver=1.7.4:11 (index):66 Uncaught TypeError: mycontainer.isotope is not a function (anonymous function) @ (index):66 jQuery.Callbacks.fire @ jquery.js?ver=1.11.2:3143 jQuery.Callbacks.self.fireWith @ jquery.js?ver=1.11.2:3255 jQuery.extend.ready @ jquery.js?ver=1.11.2:3467 completed @ jquery.js?ver=1.11.2:3498
Can you please check if everything is working properly and provide an update if necessary? The filtering function is a crucial part of my web design and we cannot go live without it!
Please let me know what you find.
      Best,
      - Josiah

There doesn't seem to be any pagination on the DMS Framework theme blog, or perhaps I'm missing something simple.

I thought there may be an issue with the site I'm working on, but then I checked the demo site here and there is no pagination (http://themes.pagelines.com/dms/blog/). Maybe that's just all the posts there are.

On my site, however, there are many more posts than are being displayed. Is there a way to turn on pagination that I'm missing?

      Wordpress 4.2
      Pagelines DMS Version: 2.1.9.3

      Any suggestions for me? Thanks!
