Customizing titles of pages/posts in Flipper

Recommended Posts

Despite my best effort I couldn't figure out how to customize the titles of the posts of the pages/ shown on Flipper. Specifically -- how to change the font size and how to get rid of the date. Thanks!

Hi,

The Flipper section like the PostLoop section uses shortcodes to display its post meta info, if you wish to hide all the info, in the Flipper settings > Post meta field, add the following:

To customize the styling of the titles, you will want to inspect the title element via your browsers web dev tools, to find the class used and then use that to add your own styles.

I have provided you with some code to get you started, this will change the color of the titles to pink, make them 40px in size and give it a black text shadow.

#site .flipper-post-title {
color: #E000FF;
font-size: 40px;
text-shadow: 5px 5px 5px #000;
}

Sorry about the follow-up. I am still struggling with the date. How do I remove the date of the post from the Flipper?

Again, many thanks!

When you click the More Info button, a list of shortcodes will appear, each one provides a specific function for example, if you want to have just the Author Name, you would add in the Flipper Meta field, the following:

[post_author]

Save your settings, refresh your site and then view your Flipper section, it should now only display the Authors name under the title, you can mix and match the meta shortcodes and also add plain text for example you can add the following:

By [post_author] on [post_date] in [post_categories]

Which would look like this on my site:

I'm using the meta code [post_date] and the date shows, but all my posts show the same date, and it's wrong.  Any suggestions?

jordangross - If you're experiencing this error, then you most likely have an out of date version of DMS. As this was a bug about six months ago, but is no longer an issue.

      I am using the Powerloop plug-in on my DMS website and can sort my elements by Postdate, but I want to sort the pages in Alphabetic order.
      Actually the same question for sorting Flipper content in Alphabetic order instead of Ascending / Descending / Random options.

      We only want the images and title mouse-over, not link/click to the actual post the title is from.
      Any ideas anyone?
      Thanks

      I just installed and added the Flipper section to my home page and it makes my navigation/menu bar items disappear.
      They do show up again when scrolling down and everything seems normal on the other pages.

      Thanks.

      Is there any way to hide the excerpt in Flipper, and the navigation arrows?

      How do I hide (or change) the category title in the Flipper section?
      Could there be a setting for this in the editor?
