Redirecting an entire DMS site to another address

Hi to all,

 

A while back I asked a question about migrating to DMS from Pagelines. This was thankfully successful. I've now finished re-building a clients site on my own domain called 'www.jawdesigns.co.uk/raceware'. I have paid for unlimited hosting and my client asked if we can keep the site on my own domain and he'll pay a small maintenance fee. However, I was hoping if someone could please point me in the right direction for learning about how I can change the url address from mine (www.jawdesigns.co.uk/raceware) and to my clients (www.racewaredirect.com) without causing any problems with our site or DMS for that matter. I was hoping that this would be possible so that I do not have export wordpress files and DMS back to his old hosting plan?

Really depends on your server setup, if its cpanel its pretty easy you just park a new hostname on your account and give it the blogs existing folder as the root folder.

 

Then follow the usual instructions here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL

 

Make sure the customer updates his DNS A record to point to your server.
