Linking Whole Rev Slider / Custom Category Pages

Recommended Posts

Hello PL peeps, okay I've searched both these things and not found anything that particularly helps me. Hope i haven't missed anything.

I've found one thread where it's stated that you can not change the template between category pages, so that's out of the question - however i really need to get a separate paragraph at the top of each of the category pages. I've messed around with hooks and i cant seem to get them just to show up solely on the category pages and not the others, can someone point me in the right direction of achieving this?

Secondly, I can remove the 'read more' button on linked images on the Rev Slider but how can i link the entire slide? Is this possible?

Looking forward to getting round these! Thanks.

Hi,

You will want to add this function to your hook - http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/is_category

To link the entire slide, isn't possible using the standard options. You could do this possibly by customizing the sections.php file or using the actual plugin and see if this is an option ?

Danny - how would you change the section.php?

I couldn't find a way to make the $link be active surrounding the image or caption.

You will need to have some understanding of PHP and follow our developer documentation. Also you want to create a child section of the RevSlider so your changes aren't wiped upon update.

thanks for this advice danny - it worked.

in the end, i found it easier to use 'quickslider' and make it full width with custom css to get a full width slider with linked images.
