Using Title and Tagline in header

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm probably missing the obvious, but is there any way I can add the Title and tagline to the header without using fixed text?

So basically have the come from wp_title()?

That way I can have the values translated on the fly...

I have added

function digwp_bloginfo_shortcode( $atts ) {
   extract(shortcode_atts(array(
       'key' => '',
   ), $atts));
   return get_bloginfo($key);
}
add_shortcode('bloginfo', 'digwp_bloginfo_shortcode');

To the functions.php, and gather the data by using from example:

<html>[bloginfo key='name']</html>

in the mastheader Title-field. For the tagline I changed the key to 'description'. That seems to be working fine.

But I am not sure if this is necessary?

Hi,

Unfortunately, there isn't a section that will display the Sites Title and Tagline, so the method you have used is just fine. Most users just added it via HTML or create a shortcode.

The majority of users prefer a logo than the Site Title - Tagline.

Hi Danny,

I understand, maybe at some point my client prefers a logo as well, but for now, this is easiest to use.

Thanks :-)
