Navbar shows current menu item with custom menu

Is there any way to stop the navbar highlighting the current menu item when on the associated page?

This seems only to happen when using a menu that is not the default menu.

The default menu works fine

In the above image the top menu has no custom css but uses a custom menu (and the home item is highlighted)

The bottom left menu has custom css but uses the default menu (and nothing is highlighted)

the custom menu was created using link items in the menu creator of wordpress

the default menu is all the pages of the site.

Not sure if this is a bug or not?

(site nowhere ready to go live but have thrown it up anyway so people can check plus I have amillion q's as totally new to this)

Cheers

Hi,

The issue is that your menu in the top right hand corner is using pages and isn't using a custom menu created by Wordpress. Where as the Menu below is using a Wordpress custom menu.

This isn't technically a bug, its just that nobody really uses the default menu created by Wordpress as they have no control over it, as Wordpress will create a menu based on the pages you have created.

So what I recommend is that in your top right and corner menu, either assign a menu to it or create another custom menu. Then both will have the current menu item CSS styling, then you will need to override this styling by using custom CSS.
