Font Awesome 4.0 Update

Recommended Posts

tsalstrand

Hey, I just wanted to ask the PL admins and see when the update to Font Awesome 4.0 will happen? They changed all the classes and added a good bit of new ones.

Any timeline for this? Thanks!

I have found that you can use 'icon-iconname' instead of the 'fa faiconname' for the time being. Does that make sense?

Hi,

This has already been reported and unfortunately, there is no ETA at the moment.

Please search our forums, before posting!

Danny, since it's been over a month since the last word, I wanted to see if there is an ETA now?

Thanks

DMS 1.0 shipped with FA4.

Since then the people at FA updated it and renamed ALL the classes. So we have to figure out a way to give you the extra 20 icons without breaking 1000's of sites.

Simon_P, thanks for the update... maybe adding it in as a second font library and then running them together without overwriting the older class format?  Just a thought, but I don't know.

Thanks,

Steve

Simon_P I submitted a pull request two months ago to add the dozen or so new icons from font awesome 4.0:

https://github.com/MrFent/DMS/commit/479c318c4782bdd49b0cfa6b588383a4125d85d1

Then you said you wanted the new class names, so I added those as well and kept the old names too so they wouldn't break thousands of sites:

https://github.com/MrFent/DMS/commit/11495e04f0392bd76c94e9cdf6465bc9a9e3c6b9

Nothing has been done with this pull request. I tested it and it works great. Not sure what else you want
