Site Works Only When Logged In, Saving Content works erraticly

Recommended Posts

I was about to bring a site live, and made the mistake of updating the WordPress software, and DMS and the DMS Pro at about the same time, so I'm not sure if it is WP or DMS 1.1.1 or DMS Pro causing the problems.

The site only works correctly when logged in, and it is not  saving correctly in sections and in the menu.

I'm using WP 3.7.1. running DMS 1.1 with upgraded DMS Pro Plugin. I've disabled all plugins, which did not change anything. I've left the DMS Pro Plugin cache checkbox unchecked. I do not have a caching plugin. I've turned the plugins back on. I turned Debug on, and didn't see anything in the report.

I've scouted around forums, and haven't seen an answer that applies. I'm supposed to go live today, so would appreciate help asap.

Please see the screenshots which show the site as it should look (these are I'm logged into the site.) And compare against the URLS that show the site broken when not logged in.

Example 1)

How the site should look (iboxes drawing correct content when logged in):

Page doesn't load ibox content when not logged in (scroll to bottom): http://whub34.webhostinghub.com/~videoh6/cidev2.com/concert-series/choral-arts-ensemble-season/

Example 2)

How the slideshow should look (using the correct image, which is cropped):

The Revslider is grabbing the wrong image when not logged in (using the uncropped version with a person who can't be shown):

Example 3)

How the slideshow should look (loading my images instead of PL placeholder images):

The RevSlider is grabbing the PL placeholder images as you can see here: http://whub34.webhostinghub.com/~videoh6/cidev2.com/about-us/our-people/

Also, when editing the site yesterday after updating, I had random issues with content and menu changes not saving. After I realized this, I began to be very careful to save (Publish) first, and the refresh the page. This is a sporadic problem. I thought I'd solved it by making sure i hit save twice, but I noticed one of my menu page changes did not save.

I also had a problem with Custom Sidebars losing all the widgets on all Custom Sidebars. I know that Custom Sidebars is buggy, so I redid each of the Sidebars yesterday. But I have a feeling the issue of losing the widgets is linked with whatever is causing the above problem.

I noticed in another Forum thread that updating any Global Settings causes a rewrite in the CSS.

This seems to have fixed the issue with the RevSlider not pulling the correct images. Not sure why CSS has to do with the images that RevSlider is pulling....

The iBox problem remains.

IS this the correct address for your site? http://whub34.webhostinghub.com/~videoh6/cidev2.com/

The answer to many issues can be found by searching in the forum before posting as someone else  may very well have had the same problem before you have.  Also, reading the documentation can help you gain a good understanding of how everything works.

New Update:

I attempted to bring the above logic as I used for getting the CSS to rewrite which solved the issue of the RevSlider to the iBox problem.

When I deleted a little text from the iBox, and then saved, it brought that particular iBox set back into action even when I logged out. That seemed like a positive thing, but it was not.

All of my other iBox content whether logged in or not disappeared. I'm now wondering if there is an issue with the databases. Is there a way to get the iBox info back from the database? If so, please walk me through, as I have no experience working with databases.

This will be a lot of work trying to redo these iBoxes from square one, or to nuke everything I've done for the past two days and go with a backup to revert to earlier versions of DMS and WP, so any help in getting the data back into the iBoxes will be greatly appreciated.

Newest Update:

I checked the databases using MyPHP, and they all are OK.

So, I think the problem is with the new implementation of iBoxes.

Any help in getting the data to flow back into iBoxes would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there, I see the iboxes showing on the page you've linked originally. Are you saying you had placed your own content in there and it's sinced vanished? The original screenshot shows the standard/default iboxes. If you didn't save and republish the ibox content then it could be that this content was lost when you refreshed the page.

Kindly search the forum and read the documentation before posting. It will help you resolve many issues.

For CSS help be sure to check out W3Schools first and be sure to download FireBug for FireFox for troubleshooting.

Yes I had my own content in the Iboxes that had been there for a month or so and disappeared after updating. Is there a way to relink the iboxes with the content that was there prior to the update?

We had a client site hacked and have moved it to a new server. All permission have been "made more secure" but it's stopped PL saving. When we click Publish hte saving keeps spinning.
In the Consol I can see 500 Internal Server Error and I'm sure it's permissions. I have contacted the Hosts who have asked which file is updating and what should the permissions be.
Please can you let me know the Folder/File path?
      Thanks in advance
Ps. Tried with all plugins off.

      Hi (Konichiwa from Japan).
I love to use pageline theme(i blogos pro).
      but some error happens "recently".
I uploaded(or inserted from media library) an image and try to save it as slide background image.
but the data does not get reflected. (also text data)
what do you think are the possible solutions concerning this problem?
      (sorry for my poor english)

the image is not reflected after publishing and reloading.

      Hi guys,
So I'm setting up a new site, and somehow the elements aren't saving any changes.
Here are some recordings of what happens:
Navbar logo not saving: http://take.ms/F2e2O  Site-wide settings not saving (in this example, Favicon, Login, Mobile Touch): http://take.ms/cSCI8  Double checked the DB whether it is able to write; I tried posting new content and so far the post is being published successfully.
I also deactivated some plugins and left DMS2 and PL-plugins active:

      ...except of course, Akismet
Anyway, got any ideas? I also tried on a vanilla installation of Chrome (without any extensions and whatnot) but still get the same problem.
      I'm on Wordpress 4.4, IIS8, MySQL 5.6
